    Good morning, all.

I am growing an autoflower for the first time (Heavyweight Fast & Vast).  The seed was germinated using wet paper towel method and moved to 3 gallon pot, mix of 2/3 Promix BX and 1/3 perlite, immediately after emergence of tap root.  Tweezers were used; tap root was not touched.  Light is 250MH on 24/0 about 2 feet above the substrate.  Temp has been constant at 75F with 30%RH.  Substrate was pre-moistened with straight water bubbled for 24 hours and allowed to warm to 70F before seed was planted.  No nutes have been given other than what may be present in the water and there are no nutes in the substrate.

After 72 hours the seedling emerged and the tips of what will become her first leaves look like charred paper.  Should I scrap this plant and try to grow another?

PS:  My iPad wants to focus on the soil and not the seedling but this pic should give an idea of what I'm on about.

  2. Hey I just saw this, don't scrap the plant, give it a week or two, but with clones and seedlings you want the humidity to be about 60-90% RH when marijuana is in vegetation it likes high humidity only when you start flowering should it be below 60% turn the temperature up 5-10 degrees. From what I can see the plant looks fairly healthy, some of my leaves come out super light green where others are a darker green then straight food coloring. All are different, it could over-fertilized from the soil but if seedling is strong it will adjust. Make sure when you water there's enough water so it goes out the bottom of the container(gets rid of some of the extra nutes) I'm not saying any of the will help, I'm a brand new grower myself but I'm always researching so I have the knowledge, just don't have the experience yet. But like I said, not saying this will work, just give it time. Maybe try those things and if a couple weeks go by and its not growing or its looking nasty and sick then sadly try a new one :( hope I helped. Happy growing!

Thanks but this actually isn't my first grow.  More like my 15th but my first with an autoflower.  I was just wondering if these kinds of anomalies are common with autos and something it will probably grow out of or if it's a sign of a genetic weakness and therefore should be discarded.

BTW, 80 to 85F for a seedling would be WAY too hot.  75F is actually at the top end of where it should be.  I would have it even lower, around 72 or 73F, but the Heavyweight is currently sharing the veg room with a Blue Cheese a couple of weeks away from being moved to the flowering room.  As far as RH, I should have noted that it's 30RH at the canopy of the Cheese but more like 59RH down around the seedling because I mist her pot a few times a day.
