240 GPH Work with 7.5 Gal res?

  1. For those of you who don't remember, I did my first hydro grow and it got fucked. The biggest problem translates to using a small air pump in a big tub. This time smaller tub, bigger pump.

    Question!
    7.5 Gallon Bucket
    240 GPH Pump
    Good enough?

    Secondary Question!
If this is Overkill, I am using one of these on each 7.5 Gal Res.
Is it so overkill that I could use one of these on Two reservoirs?
Meaning is this pump good enough for 15 gallons?

    Follow up Statement!
Money isn't an issue, so if it isn't overkill, I will just use one each.

  2. Maybe I can get better answers in the A.M?

  3. This and 4 of these large ones, and you'll be golden.

  4.
Using the 1 litre of air per minute for each 2 litres of water guideline...

240 GPH is about 15 LPM so that's about perfect for a 30 litre reservoir.
And 30 litres is just under 8 US gallons. So one of those pumps per reservoir sounds spot on to me

If you haven't bought them yet then Cranks suggestion of a piston pump will likely be cheaper. That one is a 45 LPM pump so could supply around 3 of your reservoirs

  5. Alright, Thanks for the love yall! Haven't bought them yet.
Shopping List will be adjusted accordingly =]

  6. With air, overcompensating a little ain't a bad thing at all...
Leaves room for expansion, or just the piece of mind.

  7. Yeah, I am going to buy the one for the two tanks. I hear more is better than less. I would go for a third if I was doing more than two to begin with though. I can't believe I forgot about these air pumps though. I was originally going to buy the 12 port one back for a bigger grow. Just assumed that since the grow was smaller I should go with the smaller ones. Didn't realize it was still cheaper to go with something bigger and just supply the two.
