You could soak the pieces in ethanol if you want to ingest the resinous remains. If you want to vape use ISO alcohol. Either way, soak for an hr or two then scrape what you can or use a pipe cleaner. Then put the alcohol in a jar covered by cheese cloth and let it evaporate. If there is plant material in the alcohol you should strain before evap. Sent from my iPad using Grasscity Forum
What are you talking about? I've been cleaning bongs, vapes and oil rigs for years with 99% iso. I know there are many users on here who have done the same. Even when reclaiming the "resin" or honey from vaporizer stems, I will usually set up a shallow iso bath in a pyrex dish, after the honey has dissolved into the iso, I let evaporate until there is no liquid residue left. This is basically qwiso hash! You should do some research, the MSDS does not overly specify any poisonous effects from ingestion of 99 iso. Prolonged exposure can cause issue with kidney, liver and skin. Like booze. The other fact is that iso can be used as a topical for serious bruising. Seems far from toxic. Due to your misleading information on dangers to your health, when using ISO 99. There is more danger in drinking whiskey than using iso to clean your vape stem, regardless if you are reclaiming or wasting. I am unsure if you are to ignorant to understand the usage of iso, but it would not surprise me one bit if 100's of users use iso regularly with absolutely no side effects. Not mentioning that the iso I get is USP rated, which concerns me even less. You should do some research, and learn from others, as iso will yield a much cleaner, much easier final result. But you already knew that too right?
There are also folks who swear that vac purging qwiso is required. Some also argue that vacumn purging isnt nessasary for any concentrates even BHO I dont like the idea of using iso, to collect vape resin. I think I saw some one say they use butter, that sounds alot more appealing to me. No chance of residual solvents.
I'll run a q tip through my elbow piece when it's bad then just cut the cotton head off and vape that lol it works.
i scrape mine off, the glass doesnt scratch if you dont use some thing too hard (like stone). i use a metal clay sculpting tool, kinda looks like a dabber. you can also try to scrape some with a simple drinking straw. i dont worry about getting it all off either since its just gonna get covered soon anyway, i actually think leaving some on helps it accumulate faster, but i have no proof of that.
