well from a literal standpoint, no there shouldn't be cannabis on other planets unless there is a planet that is similar to us and followed a very similar evolutionary trail. Do I think there are chemicals(in foreign organisms) from this planets that can make species high? Probably. Our brains absorb a lot of chemicals an intelligent species similar to us would probably have a large nervous system as well.
There is nno weed on other planets I mean technically in the vastnest of space maybe a plant evocled the thc molecule. But I'm ggoing to say it's not likely. However I'm sure we will find plenty of other psychoactive plants on other planets. -yuri
True, what if aliens visited us, found some plants and were like "this is some good shit" and brought it back to their planet
My opinion: If THC (and any other substances, for that matter) can be found on Earth, that means that it's stable and easy to produce in terrestrial conditions - not volatile, reactive or explosive, doesn't need large amounts of energy to be produced, high boiling point. If we assume that a planet with high forms of life (no pun intended) has similar conditions to Earth's, THC can exist and be produced there and therefore it's quite likely that at least one organism is capable of synthesizing it. I think an Earth-like planet can contain many of the compounds found here, but it's of course next to impossible that cannabis can be found anywhere else.

You didn't take into account the evolutionary patterns that would need to follow. It COULD grow in the conditions you said, but would it come into existence based solely on those conditions? I highly doubt it. Edit: didn't read your last few sentences. I agree with your opinion.
It would be interesting if we ever met them and they wanted to open trade routes and ships full of cannabis! I remember as a kid reading some comic book and the alien only came to our miserable planet for ice cream. He filled his cargo hold with it and was very rich in his sector of the galaxy.
It's possible based on the sheer number of planets that exist, but I still doubt it because there are tons of variables that would have to come together exactly right for the same evolutionary patterns to occur. I just don't see it.
Even if theres no actual marijuana on other planets, Im sure any organic world would have some kind of mind altering substance. The question is are you willing to do the research necessary to find out what it is?
No. There wouldn't even be plants. There would be organisms analogous to both, but not one in the same.
