My next Vape?

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by squidlee_bod, Mar 24, 2015.

  1. I probably jumped into vaping a lot sooner than most. It seemed super cost effective and efficient so I got one before I'd smoked probalby 15 times (if that). I did a deent amount of research, and went with MFLB because it was recommened to me by a friend and the reviews are great! I would recommend it to ANYONE looking to vape, its super durable and has a great warranty lol, though its a bit tricky to use properly (I've have mine for 4 months and I sometimes still use it poorly ie burning it too much etc). Anyways, seeing as it was my very first vape, I'm definitely willing to invest more time and money to my second one, but I just wanted to hear thoughts on it, because I honestly havent heard of anything thats better than the mflb. I probably wouldn't want to spend over 250 for it but is there anything else on the market thats better and worth it? I dont want a faulty vape 1 year in and be out 250 with no refund ya feel? Also I'd want something that I could use through college, the mfbl is nice because its small and portable, im definitely looking for something thats not too hard to transport and wont stink up a whole hall of dorms haha

  2. This is not in the right catagory, you will get more luck if you move over to the Vaporizers board

  3. $250 is a good budget. check out fuckcombustion

  4. Only posting because I am rekt.  Way out of your price range and not exactly efficient smell-wise.  I recently invested $750 into a sublimator.  Wish I purchased one sooner, the thing is extremely efficient, and milks up beautifully.

I would look into a decent desktop vape with digital controls and with a fan...can't go wrong there and shouldn't run you more then $250.

Now that I think about it the fan option isn't a big deal.

  5. Airizer. Air.

  6. One that is almost never talked about and is one of the highest quality products I've seen not even in the weed world just in general is my underdog log vape. It really is amazing and can match all of the top dollar vapes for 130 dollars and is much smaller and more durable. It's basically break proof. Look it up and look up some reviews. It really isn't that well known besides on forums like fuckcombustion where their name still doesn't come up too often but they really are some of the best vapes I've ever used.

    PAX
    Arizer Air
    Arizer Solo
I would pick the Arizer's over the PAX, though they are a bit more costly than the PAX, but a better product in my opinion. I'm gonna order the Air very soon. However, all 3 vapes are very good.
You can find both the Air and Solo for a range of prices. The Air is $250, but it's up for $169 with a free grinder on PuffItUp.com

  8. it's the other way around pax is more expensive then arizer.

  9. My bad, I meant to say the retail price straight from the company is more expensive. But you are correct, it is the other way around if you buy from a different source.

  10. What would like to change about you current vapeing experience?  There are so many options out there that are great but might not meet your individual needs or preferences. Its the old more info in the better the suggestions are coming out.

  11. I would be interested to join this discussion, too. Found the thread as I was searching for pretty much the exact same question as OP. Would be interested in probably a desktop, digital temp controls and a reliable warranty/customer service if I'm laying out a fair bit of cash.

Like I said previously the mflb is a little bit tricky to use. Though I successfully got really high off of my very first hit from it (i had a much lower tolerance then) I've let friends try to use it and they cant get it to function at all. I honestly thought it was broken one time because my friend wanted to try it and it wasn't working for them (but when I tried next it worked like a champ). it takes a lot of techinique to get really good hits, not that I mind, but easier usage would definitely be something I would look for in a new vape. I want to stick to what uses dry herb rather than waxes and oils. Also I LOVE being able to transport my mflb, I don't know if i'll find a better portable one to use--though a nice desktop seems great I really really like being able to toke in places besides my room ya know, and still have it be easy to hide from the rents and people in general.

And also, to the guy that suggested the underdog vape, that looks awesome!!! I really like that, though its big, its not obvious at all!!

Edit: i guess I'll add in that I really dig the whole wooden/simplistic look. I think I'd prefer something like that over a high tech piece if they worked the same (same effectiveness and quality etc).

  13.
It's actually pretty nuts that log vapes in general are rarely talked about or recommended here on GC.

They are ridiculously versatile. Amazing taste, and efficiency. Not to mention durable as you've already stated.

Not for all people. But definitely deserve more love than they are given.

  14.
Considering the typical age demographic here, I'm not too surprised.

  15. Why do you say the age demographic is the reason that logs are not talked about here? Is it because younger people are misinformed or that young people want the latest greatest fanciest vape on the market? I halfway see where you're coming from, I would just like your reasoning behind it.

  16. For portability I can only comment on the Solo as this is the only other portable I have more than a passing acquaintance with aside from the MFLB. The Solo did its job well and never gave me any problems but I traded it for something else so I can't vouch for reliability beyond the two months that I had it, it was a good portable just not my tastes. As far a desktop units I am currently infatuated with the LSV from 7TH Floor. It is adaptable, affordable and different enough from my Arizer EQ to be entertaining. Between those two I would suggest the LSV because of its adaptability and for groups fairly straightforward. Happy Trails.

Yes, that and, I think for the most part, the appreciation of the beauty of wood comes with a bit of age kinda like appreciating the taste of a fine wine or a single malt scotch.

When I was young, I loved futuristic looking stuff with a lot of "bells and whistles".    Today, I think that would equate to something shiny with pretty lights and possibly digital readouts............kinda like the PAX or the Volcano Digit.

The simplicity of a log vape is the opposite of that.   It's old work craftsmanship that "most" young kids just don't appreciate..................yet.

  18. Im was thinking about scooping up an arizer air but im gonna hold off and wait for reveiws on the zion.Im on the list for the first 100. Just waiting to hear from sticks and some others.

Just got my tax return recently, or should I say VAS return : )

  19. The Zion looks like a frickin awesome portable. And it's battery powered ! Usually the portable wood style vapes like this are flame based with a torch.
