Vaping is not what I expected, whats going on guys?

  1. PLEASE read this because idk what's going on with me and vaping. I literally just bought my first vape on Friday and it was the Cloud for wax. I was under the assumption that I would be able to completely switch over from flower to wax with a vape and that it would get me way higher but dude I had no idea it was a completely different high. I was wondering if it was maybe just the shatter that I got but no it was great shatter and I was wondering why I wasn't getting stoned but more of like an energized body high. It wasn't really what I was looking for and I was just confused.

Luckily the charging light to my cloud wasn't working (the cloud itself actually worked fine) so because coincidentally I was hooking them up with my employee discount where I work he was nice enough to allow me to swap out my Cloud for a micro g snoop for flower (Since I was looking to get stoned) and it's literally the cloud just with a flower attachment and dude I got fucked because I had no idea there was a "regular" snoop dogg and I got the micro, so when I first saw it it looked just like the cloud so I didn't think anything of it but when I go to pack it it only fits a tinnnnny pinch for one measly hit wtf. It's like I'm finding out all these things when it's too late, vaping is so different. Now I'm probably going to have to buy the regular sized one where you can actually pack a decent amount for a few hits and buy the wax attachment for my micro g because I might as well get use out of it.. What do you think of my situation and can you give me the 411 on vaping?

  2. Firstly, if you need a flower vape, stay away from pens! They're great for concentrates, but the majority will only burn your herb.

If you're looking for the body high, crank up the temperature... Cannabinoids released at higher temps will give you the kind of high you're looking for.

  3. Which of the following scenarios is most likely?

    1. Vaping is exactly the same high as smoking, you can switch back and forth between them and not notice any difference.\t
    2. Vaping is different than smoking.

  4. I don't agree with what you said about the digital vape. Aside from the herbie most digital vapes are 10 degrees or more off of the reported temp so you wouldn't be getting g the temp you thought.

  5. Which is why I clearly stated PLAY WITH YOUR TEMPS. My EQ is off several degrees (because of distance between my herb and the location of the heating element) and I have learned the best temps for me.

Digital is what works for me best and many other people I know. Non-digitals to me are guessing games based on method of intake.

  6. Different than smoking
    Different high than smoking.

  7. With all due respect I am not saying you are wrong because what you do works for you but for me it is the individual user thing again. You see non-digitals as a guessing game, I not as much. My most primitive vape is my MFLB and it gives me the best control over the temperature because the real time vapour stream is always playing against my tongue. No questionable indicators or timing the warm up period. Its all what I actually feel, so no guessing involved.

  8. I have a MFLB (4 years I think) as well and I found it took practice based on user experience. I like the MFLB for on the go BUT it took a bit to get used to what works for me based on reading and watching videos to get my technique down. I was simply advising the OP that digital can get you closer to what you want as your optimal vaping temp. I find I get much higher with my digital because I am able to squeeze out the most of my herb in a most efficient way(because different molecules have different boiling points). I use my desktop at home my MFLB on the go(works in a pinch but not as well for me).
I never got full optimal use of a vape until I read the link I provided to the OP and went digital.

  9. love your name and avatar

  10. Cheers man.
Kinda works perfect for a grass forum. Sometimes for myth busting and sometimes for people to vent in threads or PMs about how I ruined their sesh or got them busted [IMG]

  11. I find it's easier overall to do research first and then to make an informed purchase after

  12. only use concentrate with pens.

only use dry herb with desktop vapes. they actually vaporize at appropriate temps but start at around $250 for a good one.

  13. not true. You can buy a great desktop for just over 100.

  14. A lot of portable vapes are good. Desktop isn't always the way to go.

  15. Vaping is a different experience from smoking and converting from smoke to vapor isnt a one day thing.  Keep with it and eventually you will enjoy vaping more.  Unless you just love the stoned feeling of smoking...I still say give it a shot with a vaporizer of decent quality.

  16. It's easy to get screwed over one way or another with buying lousy vaporizers or not realizing the "high" is different, the vaporizers breaking after you spent a boat load on a vape and lots of other things. Same thing happened for me. I bought a MFLB and while it does get you high, I have several problems with my first 2 units falling apart, the fact I learned that the MFLB is a major hassle for extended camping in the boonies, the high not giving me the "body" high I need for medical reasons. If you need any type of pain management from MJ then vaping is not going to satisfy a lot of users. I do think vaping has its health benefits over smoking but there are certainly many things to consider and there are draw backs. The vape I bought is nice for stealth and the smell is much lower than smoking, but durability and hassles with batteries makes the experience less enjoyable. So the bottomline is there are pro's and con's to consider but sadly you will never find out all the con's until you have spent a lot of $$$.

Question #1.) You will definitely notice a difference if you go back and forth.
#2.) It is different. Much less body high and as others have said it is a more clear head high. Which can be good or bad depending on what you are after and your needs.

I have only used a MFLB. The "HIGH" while enjoyable, it is most definitely different than smoking MJ. But after a few months of vaping I got very tired of it and had to go back to smoking here and there to supplement vaping. I am a bout 10 months into vaping and right now I am taking a few months break from MJ and I am not sure what I will be doing with MJ  in the future.

  18. This was spot on to what I was thinking, thank you very much. It truly is different and I live in Orlando Florida so the people that do vape only use rigs and I didn't know anyone but one person who actually vaped from a pen. After all this shit happened I texted him what happened to me and he was like "yeah man :/ that's why I stopped after 2 weeks the high was just way different I didn't expect that." I am looking to get stoned, when I vaped it always felt like I took half a hit of real bud and that it was almost like a tease.

It seems to me like vaping is the healthy alternative but it's like the fat/carb/sugar free version so it's still good but you can tell it's "diet" if that makes any sense haha! Not one person from all the time I've been on the forum ever mentioned that, they made it seems like "stone-ville" here we come. But you are right, it sucks that you don't know until it's too late.

Yeah, its not like there is any information or published opinions on vapeing available to a prospective buyer. People should not have to research things before they spend their money, that should be the sellers job.

1flyfisher  "Same thing happened for me. Your right, why should one have to know if their gear will perform as they want before they take it out into the field. It should just work.

1f1flyfisher  "you need any type of pain management from MJ then vaping is not going to satisfy a lot of users."

I don,t get it either what's wrong with all those millions who are successfully using vapes for pain. Obviously they are doing something wrong.

1flyfisher  "I do think vaping has its health benefits over smoking but there are certainly many things to consider and there are draw backs."

Indeed there should be no differences for one to learn about before they spend their money. We know that manufactures hide all the information we need from us.

1flyfisher  "The vape I bought is nice for stealth and the smell is much lower than smoking, but durability and hassles with batteries makes the experience less enjoyable."

I have often wondered what all those people who have used the same box for years with no problem are doing wrong. What arcane rituals are they preforming so they don't have to use that lifetime warranty. Don't get me started on batteries, why should they run down and wear out. It not like they do that in other devices. The least they could do is tell us that before we buy the units.

1flyfisher  "So the bottomline is there are pro's and con's to consider but sadly you will never find out all the con's until you have spent a lot of $$$."

Your right the manufactures, sellers and the user community are concealing needed information from the buyer so they can rip them off, its not our fault its theirs.
