First grow here and I bought one 5 gallon burlap pot that looks like a smart pot but came with plastic on the inside and one 1/2 inch hole in the bottom. Claims to have good drainage... Or so the package says. I thought fabric pots sometimes known as smart pots were only fabric and did not have anything on the inside as to let the roots get air and for better drainage. Should I remove the plastic bag on the inside? (its is stitched in but can easily be removed with scissors) I can post pictures if needed. Btw I will be growing autos so they will start and finish in the same pot hopefully this one.....

  2. Sounds like these could be 'decorative' planters? For herbs and stuff, to look rustic but not actually get any staining from the soil contents on the outside of the sack.

Should be fine to rip that plastic out.

  3. hahaha it legit says "All Natural Herbs" on the side. I think it is for actual use though. The label says for tomato plants, herbs, ect

  4. lol I was being totally serious! And it is indeed a "decorative planter" for herbs, or middle-class tomatoes, and the liner is like I say, to stop the outside of the bag getting stained from your nutrients and stop roots trying to grow through it.  How unsightly that would be in  your cottage garden.

  5.
I got you. Decorative as in to look nice not is in like a fake planter lol. yea I'm taking the plastic outtt

  6. Home Depot sells aerated pots for $20-some in a 10 pack.  The 5 gallon ones come with saucers too.

Much cheaper than those bullshit Smart Pots (total rip-off).
