I can only assume that if there is a lot of c.meal it will smell I seafood, which may attract coons or something.

The tp will be fine. The girls should like their new organic home.

As for the DE, idk if there is a difference. But it should be ok to spread around to keep some critters away.

  3. The Crab Meal will not attract animals. Shouldn't have any issues transplanting into a better soil :). Food grade DE is the best, when using remember not to breath it in and it only works when it's totally dry. Even a morning dew can make it useless.

  5. I have my clones in 2gal of straight promix and gave em a feeding of pure blend pro but want to transplant them to the coot mix after it cooks..can I just top dress them with something for now and transplant as is or should i remove most of the promix before I transplant? Thanks

  6. I would prolly try to remove some of the old dirt if I could do it gently.

Thx prepper im pretty good at it went soil to hydro a few times fine..was just broke and got a bunch of clones so cheap promix and leftover botanicare it was lol

  8. I understand all about working within a budget. Just consider your plants and decide if they can go until you mix new soil or if you need to top dress to extend the growing period in current containers.

  9. What should i top dress them with? Figure worm castings but will that have enough nutes to last? Also have some tomato tone so maybe a mix of the two?..was just concerned straight promix uses lower ph (6) so could i still top dress and use ro water or would i need to adjust ph somehow until it works down into the soil?

  10. You could mix EWC with 1 cup of Tomato Tone per cubic foot. Use that as a top dress. It would last a month depending on plants size and needs.

  11. Awesome thanks a lot =)

  12. Well...it attracted my dog to the basement and she dug through my dirt mix that was cooking in a big tarp...lol. I'm pretty sure it was the crustacean meal, it smelled pretty strongly of fish when I opned the package. But maybe it wont after its cooked for a bit?

  13. Theres plenty of hungry raccoons in my area, if a dog can smell it Im sure they can.

  14. I ordered the living soil and ewc, i have always grown hydroponics at what point do you guys start topdressing?

  15. If you veg for awhile I would topdress when you flip into flower. If not, then I topdress when I transplant a new plant into that pot.

  16. Is there a sweet spot in temperature for letting your soil cook? It's still cool outside here so I put it in what I think is the warmest room in the house :p

  17. just has to be warm enough to support microbe life, prolly 55F and above

  18. Do i have to let the living soil and ewc cook?
    Or is optional

  19.
Tin Tizzy, its good to see you here in the Organics forum.

I think you'll be fine but as Prepper said, if its possible to remove some of the old soil you might be better off. What size pots are they finishing in?

Regarding a topdress, do you have any worm castings and/or compost and maybe some kelp meal? (oops, just saw Prepper respoinded to that post as well). Yes, a mix of castings/compost with some Tomato Tone or kelp Meal would do the trick nicely.

Again, glad to have you here.
