RSO and candida?

Hey guys, first time posting here but I've often perused these forums for advice in the past.
I am suffering from candidiasis, albeit fairly mild, it is not fun.  For those who don't know, candidiasis is an overgrowth of yeast (candida albicans) your body, which can make you depressed, anxious, cause serious brain fog, oral thrush, and a heap of other not-so-awesome symptoms.

Anyways, I was wondering if RSO/Rick Simpson Oil could worsen my candidiasis?  Anything with yeast/alcohol (among many other things) aggravates the condition as it feeds the candida, and I know RSO is often prepared using isopropyl alcohol.  Are there typically trace amounts of alcohol left in RSO? I have heard smoking can make candida worse, so that is out of the question, I can't consume edibles (because I can't have anything with sugar/grains), and I do not have/will enough cannabis to create my own oils.  RSO seems like my only viable option but I fear it may ultimately make things worse.  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?  Any responses would be greatly appreciated.  I have many medical conditions that cannabis helps me with and going without has decreased my quality of life.

Thanks in advanced, and sorry for the massive wall of text.

IIRC RSO can also be made using petrochemicals (pure light aliphatic naphtha), although it is not as safe to use as I understand 99% isoproyl is. I would imagine it wouldn't aggravate your situation to eat oil made via naptha extraction.

I'd also look at DRY sift and water extractions instead. Especially ice water extraction followed by various sieves. Although I'm not sure of the bio availability of dry sift vs RSO.

Thanks for the response.  Unfortunately I don't have the materials to produce my own RSO, nor do I really have a place to do such.  I was looking to purchase RSO from my medical dispensary but was curious if RSO typically has trace amounts of alcohol left in it?  I wouldn't really imagine so, considering the heavy testing that is done to products here in Oregon, but I'm a worry wart and I would hate to worsen my condition with something that may otherwise help it.

  4. Just out of curiosity, who told you that it can cause depression, anxiety, etc.?

No one in particular.  It is fairly common knowledge that candida overgrowth and candida die-off can both cause or worsen depression, anxiety, and symptoms of ADHD.

  6. That's why I asked. There is no evidence that it causes anything other than a yeast infection and sometimes thrush. I figured you diagnosed yourself.

  7. a few days on " the master cleanse " using molasses instead of maple syrup will knock out candida.

I'm unsure of what you mean, by "evidence", considering many people with my condition have reported a strong negative effect on mental health.  I doubt it's just a coincidence but I appreciate your input.  There are M.D.'s who have noted the link between mental health issues and candidiasis.  Thanks for the response.

I will look into this.  I have seen so many different "cleanses" and "regiments", all with good and bad results and it is overwhelming to know which path to go down. I will be seeing my doctor again this week and hopefully he can set in stone a regiment for me to follow.  Thank you for the response.

Thanks, that's really helpful.  I suppose first hand experience is not considered "ˈevÉ™dÉ™ns/" ...

  11. Correct. I'd explain this as well, but it's so much easier to point you to my signature.

I suppose you're right.  Regardless, there is clearly a link, albeit anecdotal, between excess amounts of candida albicans and mental health issues.  Whether it has been scientifically proven or not, many people, including myself, have (coincidentally?) experienced brain fog, anxiety, among other issues while dealing with candidiasis.  If your purpose is to be condescending without offering any valuable input then that's great, thanks for taking the time to post here.

  13. To avoid even trace amounts of solvent, you could eat decarboxylated kif.

Did you know that every serial killer in history has admitted to drinking water? Water consumption clearly turns you into a serial killer. There is an obvious link, right? I'm just messing with you. This is why I hate pseudoscience. I don't want you to be depressed or anxious, and if you are trying to remedy that by worrying about your Candida levels, you are wasting your time. I wish you the best, and I guarantee you that medical professionals could help you far more than the bullshit naturopath and homeopathy websites that I'm sure you are perusing.

Well check out the link I think you would agree it is at least worthy of more research... funny big pharma is not interested in doing that no money to be made treating underlying health issues when you can charge mega bucks band aiding the symptoms. I used to be in your position and was very sceptical until my health kept getting worse and worse to the point I couldn't even walk... doctors were clueless so I was forced to look at alternatives turns out I had a massive fungal mass in my head it was disgusting and incredibly hard to get rid off. I guess its one of those things you have to experience to know to be true but the implications are pretty massive when you do know. I feel it is akin to Galileo telling the establishment that they are wrong the Earth is not the center of the Universe... oh well rant over

Hey candida can be a nightmare... After lots of research and trialing stuff I cam e to the conclusion that it is not smoking Cannabis that worsens candida it is smoking poorly grown canabis that is still packed with nitrates/fertiliser salts. These obviously feed plants but guess what they also feed fungi... they thrive. Cannabis (especially concentrates) when eaten orally has more powerful antifungal effects so the benefit can outweigh the risk. The best way is to grow it yourself or know people that grow it properly.. If you are sensitive to nitrates because of candida you need to flush for the last couple of weeks of flowering and SLOW cure in a jar this is important because if you dry it to quickly the gases, nitrate et all get trapped in the buds. Really badly grown/cured weed will crackle and taste bad when smoking. but this isn't a sure thing as even small amounts will hinder your recovery. Another way to remove the nitrates is to water cure your buds.

RSO can kick Candida's ass but you want it made by someone who knows what they are doing.

    All the best.
