First Indoor Gr0w (pictures)

  1. Hi guys,
So this is my first indoor grow. I'v only grown outdoor one time, and did not use nutes other than

the potting mix(organic) that I made. So I am a beginner still, anyway moving on, I have these beauties

Deathstar and Grape Kush that are about to be put into bloom. I am using a Solar Max 1000w MH ( also I

know my setup is crap right now but its all I have so I gotta work with what I got, soon to be replaced.) I am

running it at 18h and 6h and have been for 47d. I have 3 more days and I am flushing them with

Florakleen or just straight neutral ph. water not sure yet. I a, using general hydro line, FloraGro,

FloraMicro, FloraBloom, FlouriousPlus bottled nutes for this instead of organics( just curious but as soon

as my funds are better im making an ACT brewer.) um... what else, they are in 15g pots with a mylar

reflective material as the walls iv popped up its more of a tent inside or a larger room.

I have a couple questions though. I would like answers from experienced growers and not just

speculations from people who have not grown before thank you. 1. I am unsure about how to trim really.

I am under the impression that the first 3w of bloom are very crucial to the crop size.( my outdoor I did

nothing no trimming) I have done a lot of trimming on these but there are clearly a lot of bud sites. Do I

just take all the sites that are covered by main bud sites leaves off as the will not receive much light? or

anything that is in shadow of other sites remove? they are tied down to where they are growing mostly

horizontal instead of vertical due to ceiling hight being low. 2. what should I change or do differently I

have gotten into as much detail as I can or I can think of and if you have any questions by all means

    shoot.

the photos(if upload right should be in order) thanks guys!

  2. huh guess I must have posted this wrong or something.

  3. Hey dude, give me a few minutes and itll be poppin in here :smoke:

  4. Subbed up :)

    Chef.

  5. When you're talking about trimming you mean removing fan leaf? Or trimming after harvest?

  6. They are very small for 15 gallons.

There is no need to flush between veg and bloom. Cutting stunts plants. I never do it unless i cant train them (fabric pots)

An act brewer is unnecessary. A 3 dollar 5 gallon bucket will suffice add airstones, boom, act brewer.

Salt accumulates from bottled nutes. Id stop using it. Home depot sells a bag of steer manure for 1.50 and chicken manure for 3 dollars. 1.5 cu foot bags.

Heres a link to my journal. At the top you will find "Poke's Resource Center."

I created it as a living organic journal to teach ACTs and SSTs, the cheapest, easiest way to grow any plant imho, as well as a ton of other techniques, videos, guides, etc. it changes almost daily as i add to it :)

Yield will suffer dramatically with a mh in flower. Consider hps. The cheapest bulbs will suffice. I grew a 15 dollar bulb beside a 120 dollar bulb for years and saw no difference whatsoever in yield, taste, or quality.

I move my plants to a different spot under the lights every 2-3 days. This allows parts in shadows to be lit, a constant rotation if you will. Lemme know if you need more help.

  7. For me there is too much info. Its a plant. water light food. In moderation depending on how the plants take it. I read soooo many threads on all the details with this and that and this nute mixture and that light set up. KEEP IT SIMPLE. These plants grow naturally without any of our help so let them tell you whats what! Don't get me wrong I do get anxious and antsy and sometimes want answers right away but the best learning tool for me is my palnt itself. Any grow I had problems with weather indoor or out were the ones I tried all this crap with. The ones I just kept it simple and let the plants do the talking turned out awesome. Your grow looks great to me. Any pics of the Harvest?

    Subbed.

How's that Mylar working for ya bro? I was having a heck of a time with heat spots using the stuff so I ended up yanking it out of my grow box.

Maybe I misunderstood but you're flowering with mh? Any particular reason just curious? Light penetration and the red spectrum of HPS is where it's at in flower.

  9. I just switched to flower yesterday. Also I bought a hps with an air cooled hood. Having got it switched out yet but will soon as possible. I mean for the most part I've kept it simple so far.
As for bottled notes I didn't want to use them but figured it would be easyist way for first indoor. I have lots of organics from my last summers outdoor attempt( that got stolen 3w before harvest.) Next grow I will be using organics. I'm just trying to get a basic room set up right now. This was a very rushed grow.

As for the trimming I don't want a ton of budsites that are burried in foliage and get no light. Trimming what ever is looking like it won't receive light but without cutting fan leaves off. They seem small but they are very wide because I trained them not to be tall right now I only have about 18 of height left I don't want them to burn if the get to tall.

  10. I'm using the flora series as well but in hydro. What feeding schedule are you using?

  11. Hey guys id slow.down on them veg nutes the leaf are dark and this may turn into n tox
I dont trim a thing untill harvest :)
How close are the lights for 1000w there bit thin. Well one with the droopy leafs is.. that down to lack of water
    :)

  12. Just purchased going to set up tomorrow when its daylight. spent 400$ on everything
Hortilux full spec 1000w hps bulb. Sun system XXX magnum 8" air cooled hood. Hyper fan and harvest ballast

  13. The pics where taken about ten minutes before the lights went out the last few hours of light they seem droopy. But I keep them watered with the finger method as for nutes every other time I water them which so far has been almost every 5th day so about every ten 12 days I use nutes. The last 4w I'm going to stop using nutes(bottled) and just use organics.
The mylar seems to be working great no spots just did a shitty job putting it up. As I said before it was a very fast setup.

I am building walls to make two separate rooms as soon as this cycle is done so I actually have a nice crisp setup with ductwork and fans. I'm doing the best with what I have ATM.

  14. a shame you have steered from organics [IMG]  btw nice looking plant so far why would you consider flushing if givin nothing but water all veg?,, trimming keep it to a minimum it needs its leaves and will exfoliate as needed usually  [IMG]

nice pickup on the 1000w hps.. will be big flowers indeed

  15. Subbed up buddy smoking in my lawn chair

  17. A friend in Ohio but that's all I know about it.

This is gonna sound stupid but I don't want to ruin my ballast or something. I am about to go switch the MH out for the HPS I baught do I just unscrew the MH flip the switch on the ballast from MH to HPS and the screw the new bulb in and its good?
