  1. I want to do in pots but I need about 20 pots.. its expensive tho. does anyone know a website where I can get 20 cheap? at least 15 gallons. most sites are around $100-120 for 20 pots.

or does anyone have any ideas to making containers and pots? im good with tools and all just not good with coming up with ideas.

if not I'll probably plant in the ground. probably all native soil, or 50/50. but how big should my holes be? I have 18 seeds feminized. trying to get 10 pounds at least in Ohio..

thanks for any opinions and ideas

  2. I've never actually ordered pots online. For 15 gallon pots I don't see you getting them much cheaper than that however. I don't know what the soil is like in Ohio but if you can't dig into the soil with just your hands don't use the native soil. If you need tools to break the soil up and it is rocky clay soil, I'd amend it more than 50/50. How big the holes should be is really up to you. Take a look at a 15 gallon pot and estimate the L x W x H.

But if you want the best results out of your fem seeds you're going to need to start off in dixie cups, 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon pots and as the plants get bigger you can up pot them. I wouldn't start a seed right in ground or in a 15 gallon.

    Is your spot totally guerilla?

  3. Raised beds are the best of both worlds. They give you the infinite root space and beneficial minerals and soil life of growing in ground. And they give you the drainage and control of a pot. If you have gofers or moles in your plot, you can line the bottom with chicken wire to help protect your rootball. I used cinder blocks to form my raised beds but wood would probably be easier. I don't know about price though. If you plan to use this plot over an over, I would definitely invest in the raised beds. If it's guerrillas, just use the smart pots and sink them half way into the ground. This helps keep them from drying out as fast, reduces the height, and if you have to you can pull them up and move them still.

  4. Thanks for replies. Not too fond of raised beds.. But I will probably start in 1 gallon pots, then move to holes in the ground. I'm probably gonna dig 1 foot down and 2 1/2 feet wide.. Its somewhat guerilla. Its not on my land. I haven't even seen the land. I hope nobody goes back there I only looked on Google earth. But its walkable in 10 minutes from my girlfriends house. So if anything I'll try to see the plants twice a week to make sure everything's alright.

you can use those plastic grow bag it's pretty cheap http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BBFYDTC/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1427467987&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=20+gallon+grow+bag&dpPl=1&dpID=31oMSPuU2NL&ref=plSrch

  6. I would use 20 gallon smart pots. They will provide a better rootball than hard pots. Yield is better and plants get don't get rootbound like they do in hard-pots. The root will grow through the bottom of the pot and into the soil. You can partly burry the pot and it would help spread the roots. If you order from GeoPots.com you can get a decent deal in them.

  7. I live in Ohio I'm just wondering hoe do Yu plant to grow outside now it's still cold as shit outside are Yu just planning a outside grow for wen the weather is better.?

  8. Yea of course.. Its only end of march growing season hasn't started yet I'm just planning right now. Growing season starts mid April I'd say. Might be in may though cause they're saying the last frost date will be in may this year.

  9. okay will look into that thanks! I'm thinking of just digging holes. Was reading up on tom hill & I'm pretty convinced after reading about his grows. I'll just use 18 deep x 4 feet wide instead of 6 feet wide. Ohio has decent growing season but I'm not in Cali I don't want to grow huuuge monsters but still want monster plants lol

  10.
Gonna take a lot more legwork than a quick lookup on Google Earth and "hoping" to get into a guerrilla spot that someone else won't stumble into just as easy as you did. Sorry, but it's tough love. Gotta look at what the spot is like at the end of the growing season with no greenery left around to shield it, then you can tell if it's hidden enough to the finish.

Especially if you're shooting for poundage, gotta put a lot more in if you expect to get a lot out.

  11. I suggest you start seedling indoors and move them outside on Mothers day. Too early can create early flowering and cause the plants to reveg. It's stunts the plants growth and makes the plants look like a mess.
