Good Spaces Movies (When stoned)

Discussion in 'Movies' started by Jesse Botwin, Mar 18, 2015.

  1. I recently watched Gravity while high and I found it to be an incredible experience. I can definitely see why this movie won the awards it did. It was fantaatic!
I never really get on edge while watching movies (usually only intense TV series I'm watching) unless they do a lot of character development. Gravity didn't do too much character development, yet I was for sure on the edge of my seat.

Anyways, I'm looking for a good space movie (or series) to watch while high. All I ask is that it has nice graphics. (So nothing made in before 2000 or so). The reason for that is because my Surface tablet has a really nice display and I like to max out the visuals. Space is so beautiful and amazing, even more when high.

    Any good recommendations?

  2. "Europa Report" is good. "Love" is good. I know you don't want old movies but if you ever change your mind, check out "Spaceballs."

Interstellar is a trip. Might have to rewatch though since its full of a ton of different concepts in astrophysics.

Solaris was kinda cool in concept but overall not that great.

I know you said before 2000 but im gonna throw out Event Horizon just cuz Morpheus (Larry Fishburne) is badass in that one.

  4. I was thinking about Intersteller, but it's quite long. I'm check it out though. Is it mostly on land or mostly in space?

I'll check them out sometime. I loved Space Balls, I seen it like twenty times. But I'm trying to avoid those kinds of graphics for now. (Not that I don't like classic graphics, its just that I'm looking for modern visuals for now)

  5.
I actually liked it better than Gravity even though the ending is very confusing. They spend a lot of time on land and in space. Like 50/50. There are some crazy graphics though like when they pass through wormholes . Think when they go into "plaid speed" on Space Balls but with modern graphics. Watch it on the biggest TV you can , makes it better.

  6. That actually sounds really sweet. I'll have to check it out soon. (My Surface has an amazing display, It'll look awesome)

  7. Yea just don't expect a super amazing plot line. the movie is really about scale and it's graphics more than anything.

  8.
Still one of the funniest scenes of all time...

  11. . Have to second europa report.

  12. Do NOT watch Event Horizon high!

Are you trying to kill him man?!

  13. Have to third.

ER has a great mood to it.   Greatest aspect of that movie is that it could actually be scientifically accurate.

  14. Watched Interstellar while high over the weekend. Excellent recommendation! It was super cool, thanks man! :D

  15.
Nice  yea it was definitely one of those movies you gotta watch twice. Glad you liked it :)

    Event horizon was da bomb
. Probably 1 of 4 movies that actually scared me. Take my eyeballs and see for yourself.

  17. Check out Moon and Sunshine.

  18.
Moon is great.  I wasn't expecting much, I was mildly curious how David Bowie's son would do as a director, and I ended up loving it.  Rockwell was great.  Great little sci-fi mystery.

  19. Space Balls
    The Fifth Element
    Star Wars
    Star Trek
    Apollo 13
