Guys I've been growing with this light since mid January and this Samsara Seeds Automatic Ultraviolet is looking amazing, getting really close with about 25% clear, 70% cloudy and maybe 5% amber or less. All organic grow with a double bucket SIP system for Watering which is working quite well it seems with this strain. I expect to yield 1-2 ounces from the looks of it which it way better than my last autos that I got 7 grams and 14 grams. My thoughts on the LED are you can't beat it. It cost me 100 bux with free shipping from China and a 25 dollar FedEx rip off fee lol its a 300 Watt and it's actually called the Old Model on their site lol so I can't wait to try out one of the 3 newer models they have specially the Mars 2 with 5 Watt diodes. Who else has grown with this light and what kind of success have you had? How about other LEDs and has anyone done a comparison with Mars to a different company. People are claiming up to 2 grams a Watt, who knows how true but even at 1.5 a 1600W Mars 2 light can produce 2400 grams in one grow? The light cost 700 and that means you paid 2.2 bucks a gram for the first grow lol I have 2 non auto plants going now and they are exploding and I expect very big yields, the Cole Train I have going is being LST'd around the bin and it just popping out everywhere I have never seen a plant explode like this and it's only 3 weeks old.
I know a guy who claims he gets 3 grams per watt off a 50 watt cfl bulb in a PC tower. Could be amazing or could be just plain BS. Kind of depends how badly you want something to be true. When it comes down to cost and effort per gram of quality bud, I tend to watch the folks who make their living growing weed. What lamps, and methods do they use? Sure most use Gavita DE lamps, but if what you are saying is true, they will all switch to MARS LEDs. When you start getting a pound and a half of dried bud from a 300 watt lamp, you can start to believing the stories you hear on the internet. For now, my feet are on earth. R
Idk im not a fan of the Mars series tbh. Not that they are substandard (even tho im familiar with a true led grow) because for the money they are well worth it. I am just a fan of HPS. I get 1.5 per watt on average (non auto). I mainline so autos are my enemy lol. But i get my bulk from eliminating popcorn buds and focusing on those large colas and maintaining a clean and healthy enviroment. I literally just popped two beans in two days ago and already seeing sprouts under the t5. Lol here i am getting off topic. I still use Mars in my grow room for supplemental bands that my hps cant reach. And i notice a HUGE benefit when it comes to end of flower when i drop the temps to increase color vibrancy in my purple strains. I can say that i love the entire LED scene in general when i do sealed set ups.. Nothign is more beautiful than your electric bill when you dont have to supplement air and you can use 2 exhale bags and a 6 in fan instead of a 1000w hps (+ ballast wattage) and a hv fan. Either way, I seem to get all of my most beneficial end results via supplement with the mars. and they are cheap enought that you can afford to supplement with em. im curious to see a heads up comparison with MARs as a supplement with a 100w hps and with otu it to see the actual results. I unfortunately cannot afford to drop grams to see lol. if you want some bigger bulk add a few cfls with that mars get away from autos and learn how to use those watts the right way via lollipopping and lst. youll end up 2 zips or more a plant depending on how you veg. Anyways i figured id share. Im trying to get a journal started on here but i cant seem to ge tmy pics small enough to be uploaded. if anyone has tips on that let me know lol
The Cole train will be the real test for grams per Watt, I'm spiral LSTing it around the 20 gallon bin so I expect a big pull after 2 months of veg it should be massive at the rate its going now. I can't compare to anything but fluorescence/cfl in my 1st and 2nd grow and I had probably had 500 watts around those plants. I got 120 grams off 2 plants that I vegged for way to long lol, first one. Then I did an auto grow and was hugely disappointed with only 7 grams on one and 14 on the other. So compared to those this is an incredible light with zero heat which feels so much safer not depending on a fan to cool a light that is so hot could light shit in fire lol
This is the whole thing with gram per Watt that has always bothered me. If I veg for a month and buddy with the CFL Veges for a year, he probably will get 3 grams a Watt. My question is how does the gram per Watt get measured? Is it with a plant that vegged a certain amount of time or are people saying it's impossible to get 3 or even 5 grams a Watt no matter how long you veg?
Few things tell less about a grow than "grams per watt". "Joe was not real good at mixing nutrients. He had to veg for a year with his 1000 watt lamp and harvested a pound of low quality bud." "Jim was an expert grower. He harvested a pound of high quality bud in 85 days (clone to harvest) using a 1000 lamp" Both have the same gram per watt ratio, except Jim used 25% of the power that Joe did. So all you Joes bragging about gram per watt ratio can save it for someone who doesn't know better. Grams per watt is a retarded measurement used by braggers and folks who need to sound smart. It will tell you nothing about nothing. I have seen other measurements of power to yield that are a bit more scientific. But I feel the best way to measure efficiency is not to compare to other people's grow operations, but to see the positive change in your own. Too many variables and a load of false claims to take any of it seriously. Peace, R.
i never thought the gpw yeild was possible until i cracked it , only just though . i got 623 gs off a 600w with a 3 week 1 day veg. i thought people were bullshiting when they posted all these big yeilds .now ive seen it with my own eyes i know alot more is possibe , i still see myself as being in the learning phase. if ya know your strain and you got everything dailed in , and you give your plants alittle time they will pay you back
Another grams per watt story on the internet. Useless measurement. But glad you are harvesting and enjoying the fruits of your labor.
Loved the first one just ordered another one from Sara who is awesome, picked up the 192x3 reflector series this time to compare to the old model I first got. If the website stats are accurate this is the best bang for your buck.
Blue and red until you look at it for a couple minutes then your eyes adjust and it looks white lol probably bad for your eyes so I where sunglasses 😎

I have a 32"x48"x48" cabinet right now but I'm planning on building a new one today because I got the new light so I need 2 rooms now.
