Hey GC I am starting my first Hydro deep water container grow once my shipment arrives and besides growace.com's  Oneness nutrient that is a base nutrient what does everyone suggest I use for hydro nutrients? I need something for the seedling stage, veg and bloom that would go with my base nutrient. What has everyone who's done DWC before used successfully??

links to products would be awesome and i am not looking to break the bank since i did with all my other equipment thats coming

a well known well balanced nute would be great. I ran fish fertilizer in my DWC (dont do this) and besides changing my res everyday the plants LOVED bubbling in chopped up fish. DONT use alaska fish fertilizer if you have pets they will go in the REZ or dig up ur plants when ur not home. I used force to try and discourage and it didnt work. SO alaska fish fert is just lose lose and supposedly its deficient.

So my suggestion is some root stuff i think its rhyzotonic, superthrive, anything from botanicare, liquid karma is good for soil...
Botanicare hydro tea stuff its great for keeping things clean and with friendlies...

um anything that has an A and B by its name.....i think general hydroponics makes some cheap stuff thats awesome for beginners

O yes i forgot to say hydro is expensive as hell the intitial cost isnt much but at the end F%$#...the airstones RUN ALL DAY

do a hydro in the summer and soil in the winter its cheaper that way

Thanks ill look into those options,

Ive done some extensive research throughout the hydroponics section and i am going with ionic grow and ionic bloom. I was thinking of getting a seedling starter or some root protectant but many people on here say ionic alone works fine for them and I am also already getting "Oneness" which is a base nutrient. I also have many jars of super thrive from when i worked at a nursery so i may just use that for the seedling stage and onward.....[IMG]

thanks for the one reply lol

  4. If you already selected the base nutrients that your going to use your going to want to use that same lines additives, personally never heard of or used these specific nutrients but I googled company and here is a link to their "starter kit" which essentially they are saying you will need these to have a complete grow. Here is a screen shot of the names and a link to the page.

  5. I'm going to use the Lucas formula with maxibloom

  6. I would say any nutrient labeled for hydroponics use you will be good. Each grower will have a preference regarding nutrients, there is non bias opinion on the issue. However, I've used A/N for the past four years and I have no complaints.

If you are doing DWC for the first time, my honest advice will be pay more attention to the temperature inside the rez, if you don't get the temperature right it doesn't matter which type of nutrients do you use your bro, your grow is bound to fail.

    My two cents

Consider me another vote for lucas formula by using Maxibloom. It's simple and gets results. For High power lighting it's 7 grams of Maxibloom to 1 gallon of water. For low power lights it's 5 grams per gallon. Here are a few links to look at and some pics of plants I've grown using it.

Just changed over to flower a few days ago under a 600w hps, I'll try to remember to pop in and let you know how it turns out. Remember! Lucas is the same formula from start to finish, unless you have a stage of growth under low power lighting. To be honest, I planned on this being a perpetual grow but I need the plants to slow down and I'm using shop lights for veg.

EDIT- Understand these plants are heavily trained for my grow, but you can clearly see from the leaves they are healthy. In any form of hydro this is really all you need, and it comes from having a basic understanding of the nutrient profile you are aiming at.

  8. Thanks, i didn't know the brand but they are the nutrients sold with Growace.com's grow kits so it came with the "oneness", $60 for the whole set aint too bad though, but i think my ionic grow and bloom will do basically the same thing as there equivalent nutrient...not sure ill see what happens, check out my topics in my profile to see the start of the grow next week when the plethora of packages arrive!

What would you say your ideal temp should be in F? I may get some of those rez heaters if its necessary because ill be growing in a basement which is generally colder then the rest of the house. But summer is coming up and the humidity kicks up a lot down there so ill have to deal with that as well soon.

  9. Keep your res temps between 65-70 for higher dissolvable oxygen to be available for your plants and make sure you keep below 72 otherwise your going to experience bacteria growth.

  10. Exactly what he said ^^^^^^^^^^^ above me

  11. Thanks guys adding that to my grow notes

  12. I use growth technology's ionic grow when vegging and ionic bloom when flowering. Nothing else is needed. One bottle, no mixing ratios, and great results

  13. Added to my wishlist GG
