Suggestions for low THC, tasty, sativa strain or grow method

  1. For my next run, I'd like to grow a plant that's sativa dom but that's low in THC.  Basically, I'd like to be able to smoke a joint of some tasty, energizing, cannabis that'll get me buzzed but not baked.  Something that'll leave me very functional.

When I google this, I've really only found strains that are nearly 0% THC.  I know I could just use a single hitter but that's not what I'm asking about.

Does anyone have any experience with a low THC strain (~10%) or a method of growing any strain so that it has less THC?

    Thanks.

  2. When you burn cannabis, you release active thc into your brain, that's the purpose of smoking. You simply want an early harvest (contains less CBD/CBN and other actives) that you can keep puffing on. I've had strains from bag seed that go for 7 weeks and that is your goal right there. To get the maximum thc potency you harvest your cannabis at 7 weeks (after first preflowers show), period. If you let it go for longer, especially a late harvest female, she'll knock you on your ass for hours and keep you feeling sleepy as long as you smoke it. I feel you with the functionality issue. Harvest time matters deeply, changing the entire high from a breezy head high to whole body relaxation from the exact same plant just because of a couple weeks time during harvest.

Thanks for the ideas and information.  Ya, I'm definitely planning to head toward an early harvest.  The only way to tell that I'm aware of is trich color.  I'm guessing I'd want to harvest just as they start to cloud.  I have 4 plants and 3 varieties so with one variety I can try two different harvest times in order to experiment with the impact of harvest times.  I have one indica dom so I'll probably let her go for a while and just let her be sleepytime bud.

I also thought about reserving some bud and freezing it then agitating it a lot in order to knock the trichs off.  That way I can have fun with trichs and also have a mellower bud.  Kinda like wheat berries becoming two products, wheat bran and white flower.

  4. I break my harvest into 1/3's. I harvest 1/3 when the trichs are cloudy, 1/3 when you have roughly a 50/50 mix of cloudy and amber, the last group get the ax when is mostly amber. This way I have options depending on how I feel.

  5. Look at World of Seeds. They have a lot of landrace strains that are very cheap and I'm pretty sure low in thc
