Scrod help needed please

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by wrecker92, Mar 9, 2015.

  1. Hi everyone, I've decided I want to try scrog this time around. I'm growing in a 1.2 x 2.4 tent and the question I have now is how am I actually meant to get the net in the tent I mean I could tie to the poles of the tent or make something to hold the net. Just looking for designs that people have used and that work. Thanks.

  5. Plenty of ways to make it and they pretty much all work just keep these couple things in mind while deciding essentially what you go with. For your screen your probably going to want to get a tighter grid meaning smaller holes and more of them being in such a small space to grow your going to want as many tops as possible so this should help. Second think about how you are going to change your nutrients/clean your reservoir unless your are in soil then just be sure to leave enough room to water. Pvc is cheap durable product and may suit you well for frame then think about using zip ties to secure net in place that way it's a easy replacement when the time comes.

  6. Personally when I did scrog I made a wooden frame a couple inches smaller than the size of my tent. Then I put a couple pulleys attached to the top of my tent frame and secured it to the screen frame. This way I was able to hoist the whole plant up to change my res, obviously
after she was big enough to hold herself in the netting. Here is a pic off the net of what I used for netting.

  7. That a very interesting Idea Jres , my initial reaction would be " Bad Idea " depending on what your doing you would potentially lift your plant out of its pot and end up with a mess, so I guess I would like to know more because the concept would be great because you could easily clean and get around your plant in a smaller space.... Any pics?

FLgrowman unfortunately I used past tense in one of my sentences meaning at this time I can't grow scrog anymore...bs now you making shit up. My situation is this my inlaws come in whenever they decide is good for them to visit my baby so since this happens I had to stop srog and just super crop and keep them small so I can change locations when they decide to up and come out to visit and I say unfortunately because in my opinion and personal experience scrog is the way to get highest yields. Now back to the set up when I had it up, I used 5 gal buckets being I wanted multiple strains so had the 4" net pot that go with the buckets, and like I said before I would secure the plant in some places the the actual grid. During this time I have a drain I tapped into the bottom of the buckets and have them on a 10" platform I built so I can drain and refill easily but I get anal and really like to change the whole bucket with clean everything. So by the time it's ready for flower obviously grid is full plants are secured in multiple locations you can pop the lids hoist them up and change out the buckets. Since all I could give you was a description of it I hope you got the idea, what I can do and will tmrw is post a pic of all the things I have from it, like pulleys and take a shot of the grid I made maybe give you a little better idea of how it was. In the future. I will go back to it but I have to build a specific room for it that isn't next to where the inlaws stay, I plan to have it up and running by end of summer I'll deff be posting pics then. Don't mean to ramble happy growing

  9. Not really making anything up, just the idea seemed incomplete however I see that you were using dwc so I see how you could lift everything out and change it, seems a bit worry some but I agree, I hate a dirty grow area so if it made it easier more power to ya!

Would love to see how you did it tho.

  10. No, I understand where you're coming from I was just kind of setting up my explanation with the whole "bs now you're making shit up"comment. Another reason I wanted the grid on pulleys was so that it could be adjusted depending on plant height and what not.

Forgot I had was using one for the fan and the clamp is what I used to hold the the grid at desired height.
