do-nothing garden

  1. Thanks TJ. I respect that. You're right, pHarmer is the man with these lights. I know you just got yours too. Guess I was just looking to see what everyone who has them thinks of the footprint they're seeing from the light they have in their setup. The more input I can get the better. I Haven't contacted the mfg yet but will soon. The experience you've all had is another reason to go with Amare. The warranty helps too! I just need to finalize the space so I'm working with more accurate dimensions when I contact them.

  2. Thanks for the SIP  chat bud.i won't be using that..right now it's 14 " saucers.. i wanted something deeper this size, so i can layer
some Hydroton balls as an air layer and a good place for a little run off to go, like a flood tray..ut oh brainstorm, iv'e got 3 " of gravity to mess with lol

  3. Those guys at Amare will treat you excellently,, you won't be disappointed   ..     god bless..so mote it be

Yeah I hear ya man. Always good to get as many diff perspectives as possible. If it were me, in a 4'x6' space, I would go for either 2x SolarEclipse lights, 4x 260's, or 6x 150's as the ideal probably. How big of a footprint do your current arsenal of lights provide? IIRC, you have some ProSource UFO's?

  5. Thanks TJ. I value your opinion. Yeah, my ProSource UFOs do a very good job in a 2x2 space. I use four in my 4x4 tent, and one is actually a flower accelerator uv light. Same size, just all uv. You have to keep them close, but I've gotten 4-6 oz plants under them in the past. I'm happy with that, but they're getting old. I expect to replace all of them over the next 2-3 years if I'm lucky. They're only 90 watts. The last three years I've supplemented with a couple cfls to round out the spectrum and noticed a difference so I stuck with them. Raised temps a bit though so I would like to do away with them. The SS lights will do that for me I'm sure.
In my 2x4 veg tent I use a crappy 240w Blackstar LED that is half working, and a cfl. I'll use that for seedlings. So I'm really looking to light two more plants initially, or a 50% larger flower space.

  6. That is awesome man. 4-6 oz is impressive. My goal is to get 3+ oz per plant in my tent lol. 4-6 would be baller.

I initially wanted to go with prosource when I first started looking at LED's. One of the local dispensaries around here uses them. On the prosource website they actually have vids of the grow. That is for Tree of Wellness in Colorado Springs, one of my favorite shops.

The SS150's are recommended for about a 2'x2.5' footprint, so they would be a good choice to replace your ufo's one at a time if you want to go that route :) really lightweight and run cool, so I think they would be a good choice. Even the SS100's would be a good choice. If you can afford the cree option, that will really extend the longevity.

  7. Ive seen that video. It's impressive for sure. Would love to see if live. Glad to hear they're one of your favorite shops. They must grow good stuff then. I think their LEDs grow awesome weed. Best I've ever had but I can't say I've compared to hid specifically so who knows? I'm happy and that's what counts right? I thought about buying a couple more of those, but their technology appears to be the same as when I bought mine. I know the tech has come quite a ways in five years, and I always thought full spectrum is the way to go.
I sent Amare an email so we'll see what they have to say. Keep you posted.
Thanks for all the help TJ!
Oh btw, I got the wife to buy into this, and blamed it all on you. Hope that's ok pal! (-:

  8. Yeah that was the only reason I had ever even heard of that brand. They were always bragging about their LED lights lol. That full spectrum definitely grew some excellent herb. One of the best shops in the springs, hands-down. I haven't had my card since last may but they had been rocking them for at least the couple years that I was going there. It is kind of weird that prosource never updated their lights :confused_2:

I didn't get to see the grow live since they use a big warehouse in denver. Probably closed to the public anyway.

JakalopeIVXX has his card....we should send him to the shop to take some budshots for us lol :poke:

That's pretty badass that you have been using those same lights for 5 years

Excited to see what you think of the Amare lights! :) definitely keep us updated.

Lmao well they better work great if my good reputation is staked on them :p

  9. Got a detailed reply to my email from Victor at Amare. Definitely buying a SS-600 at least. I may get all six if the deal is right. I'll keep you posted. This means I need to get my ass in gear and get some work done instead of cruising Grass City huh?
Thanks again for your help TJ.
Btw, my wife was trying to convince me to go bigger this morning! Wtf? Maybe she knows Victor? Lol!

  10. ^^^^ Ballin

  11. Agreed. That setup is kick ass, lixx. Very clean and organized. Your plants look fantastic. Can't wait to see whatcha do with the new light :metal:

  12. That's awesome man I am very excited for you!! :) you thinking about starting a journal?? :poke: if not, feel free to post pics and what-not in here :) we can always do with more bud porn around here :hello:

  13.
    Go where?

  14. Tree of Wellness off of Fillmore. One of the better shops in the springs if you haven't been. I really liked their Recon and Ghost OG :)

They use the same LED lights that Mainah has been using, which is what brought it up.

  15. Really nice set up man. Super clean
The lights are really special. Very impressed. Those girls look healthy
What's your tent size if I might ask?

    The Alaskan way!

  16. That's a sweet setup Lixx! I'm coming over to sub up to your grow man. I gotta watch. Your space is close to mine. II'll be at 4x6.5 when I'm done by the looks.
Congrats on such a great looking garden!
