Equal rights far from I think

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Slilent, Mar 6, 2015.

  1. Been thinking and I disagree I don't feel equal rights exist among men and women.

Women can hit men with no fear being hit back.
They make false accusations of abuse or rape and the male is arrested with out question until the investigation starts.

    Same time
Males seem be largely more accepted In work force ull up
Rumors say men make up to 75 c more

Where women aren't even expected to work

These are a bunch of half ass arguments laying in bed with a flu looking for sum fun disscussion

  2. This needed its own thread? There is literally a thread titled feminism today.

    You just want attention
    No one thinks they do.

The point is we've come along way and we continue to try.

Feminists act like we live in a world run by woman hating pigs. We don't
    Its a pointless discussion

These are not rights, those are just your opinions on social customs in the first world, with a false statistic thrown in. Since you're in bed with the flu, read these three articles, understand them, apply them to humans, and come to the correct conclusion that no amount of Social Marxism will correct thousands of years of evolution, and will harm the ability of college students to function in the real world.

This is a misrepresentation of a misrepresentation, but you are correct regarding its validity in stating that it is a more or less a rumor - ie, it has been debunked.

There is a difference in the total earnings between men and women, but there is equal pay.

Your coworker works 50 hours a week and you work 35 hours a week. You are both in the same position with the same qualifications and time on the job. Your hourly pay is the same. However, he works overtime and you don't quite work full time (40 hrs) - therefore he earns more than you. These kind of differences are what add up to the 'wage gap' (which is actually a misnomer).

  5.
It should also be noted that people who negotiate their salary make upwards of 1 million more over the course of their lifetimes than those who do not. A far greater percentage of men negotiate their salary than women do. I can cite this if interested, it's in a book I have at home so I can't do it right now. Just a tip to everyone out there, don't be nervous about negotiating your salary, it makes you look good, not bad.

  6.
They're not rumors, studies have shown it to be true as clear as day. Men make more than women. And it's not 75c more, the mantra is that women make 73-75 cents on the dollar. So for every dollar a man makes women make 37-35 cents less.

I agree tho, we have a long way to go til we reach real equality. But equality doesn't come from regulations and legislation. It can only be achieved when men and women don't think of each other as men and women rather just people. Today we feel that both genders have general strengths, weaknesses and different value in different fields based on their genders and there lies the issue.

How should this be solved? Death. Let the older generations die off and you'll see a bit more equality. We're not the ideal generation tho. I believe it'll take another hundred years to see the equality we all strive for.

Every new generation is a little more socially liberal, not only in the west but around the world.

  7. Wow I forgot I made this this morning

  8. LOL Wut?

  9. Rumor has it woman prostitutes make more then men prostitutes. My dick needs equality. But what the dude tadaelis said is pretty accurate IMO a hundred or two hundred years for full equality.

  10. I've never worked a job where men and women make different wages for the same job. Ever.

Are these statistics skewed by the fact that there are more CEO men then women? Cause those billions would change the math a LOT

Prostitution should be legal, and many of the welfare mothers could at least make a good living doing what they do best, which is screwing a lot of guys and having babies.  Let them pay their own way - they'll make a lot of money, pay taxes, live better than ever, and we won't have to support them any longer.

One of the few times I agree with you. Only problem is those sort of parasites have no shame and a busted moral compass and a lot of them would work the streets while collecting a "free" check. I do whole heartedly agree though that prostitution should be legal. It's none of the government's business what a woman does with her own pussy. I guess they can't tax pussy so better make it illegal.
Hell, maybe prostitutes should just start filming every sale and post it on a pay website and call it making porn???

  13. Sadly, I think the "Equal Pay for Equal Work" campaign is about acquiring votes for the Democrats during election times. The 77/100 statistic has been discredited numerous times.

I mean, if women truly did work the exact same with the same qualifications, same hours, same experience etc, when all the variables are accounted for, and they just arbitrarily make 23% less than men, why would a business even hire a man? There should be no men in the workforce if that were true.

Legalizing prostitution is the American women's nightmare, lol.  The average wife who holds back, or outright denies, sex to her husband, which is EXTREMELY common, will have to get used to either getting their act together, or learning to live with a man who finds his pleasures outside of the marriage - NOT that it's his fault, most of the time.

I have no problem with legal prostitutes charging a couple of hundred an hour.  They'd earn an upscale income, some of the welfare mothers will be taken off the roles, public housing and other benefits, and everybody will be happier - including tens of millions of frustrated husbands, lol.

Exactly. Legalized prostitution ruins the token economy of sexual gratficiation that is essential to today's monogamous relationships. Since women hold a monopoly on sexual access, and they know this, they have no interest in allowing men abundant access to sexual gratification - especially with a fixed price and essentially no negotion. Relationships are transactional, but the transaction itself is ill-defined. A man often enters into a relationship with preconcieved notions of what they want and should be able to get and a woman enters into that same relationship with her own preconcieved notions of what she wants and should be able to get. The demands and standards of the individual who controls sexual access (the woman) can be set increasingly high to the point of diminishing returns for the individual seeking sexual permission (the man). Prostitution abandons this formula by setting a fixed price that must compete in the free market. If a prostitute tries to raise the price for sexual access too high, she will not be competitive in the market place and will see a loss in customers. Outlawing prostitution artificially increases women's sexual market-place value on the whole. Along with the social stigma related to prostitution, this has the effect of increasing women's bargaining capability when it comes to traditional monogamous relationships. Enough men are willing to believe that they are gaining something from the transaction that occurs during typical relationships without doing a cost-benefit anaylsis and seeing that they are actually sinking a lot more money into their sexual gratification than neccessary. If men were allowed access to safe, legal prostitution (without heavy taxation and regulation), then they would be able to be provide themselves with a cost-effective means of sexual gratification while still being able to enjoy the company of women (pursuing a platonic relationship without the sex transaction) and simulataneously enjoy the best of both worlds without having the increasing cost of sexual access dangled in front of them. I think women subconsciously understand how they benefit from their sexual value and monopoly over sexual access and realize that they are more socially adept and cunning than men. Ironically, the 'liberalization' of women and the prevalence of hook-up culture, due to feminism, has greatly diminished women's sexual market-place value and the myth of feminine mystique. At least, this is my opinion from my own observations...

Hey No Dot Lenny, I like the way you worded that.

Now will you please explain to those who think "equality" is a laudable goal how wrong they are, because the only way to achieve true equality is by force. Nearly every utopian scheme ever dreamed up by mankind always involved the use of violence.

I know you'll be butting up against the teachings/socialist propaganda of the government schools, but I can't do it anymore. I gave up. The two generations below me, as a group, are lost.

    Very well put.

In short, the feminists have cut their own throats, lol.  Glad to hear you use the phrase, feminine mystique, from the title of the book of the same name by feminist writer Betty Friedan.  Serves them right, lol.

  18. I can't believe people still believe that women only get paid 75% of what men get paid for the same work. It's an insane claim to begin with, and it's been thoroughly disproven.

I guess that's how propaganda works though, tell a lie often enough and people will believe it.

Shit i had a whole big post typed out but then accidentally closed the window, oh well.

I have separate thoughts for that.

    1. The people who legitimately believe in equality are basically like the donkey chasing the carrot on a stick. Its designed so that the donkey can never eat the carrot no matter how hard he tries. Much like how equality cannot be achieved because society and mankind by their very nature prevents that ideal from ever coming to fruition.

    2. The more common occurrence is the people who mask their agenda by using misleading language. They hide behind the word equality because it sounds like something we all should be striving for. Academia is pumping out millennials like crazy who basically want a society akin to post-apartheid South Africa wherein the same discrimination they are fighting against is applied to a different subset of society than it originally did. This isn't equality in the slightest. It's just a bunch of identity politics and ideologues trying to replace merit with their own bullshit.

It's an extension of "war is peace, slavery is freedom, etc". Inequality is equality.

The only admirable thing to do is advocate for a free society where everyone is afforded self-determination and individual sovereignty. The law should apply to everyone equally regardless of who they are. We can't even achieve equal application of the law despite the fact that it's been enshrined in our constitution for the past 147 years, but we're getting into a different discussion for a different day.

    Excellent Lenny.

    Thank you. :)
