ro reservior temperature

  1. What do you guys keep your ro water reservior temperature at?

Not the actual water that is being used on your plants but the water you collect in a large brute trash can or 55 gallon drum for future use so you do not have to wait hours to collect your res water.

I have an ro filter setup and a new food grade 55 gallon plastic drum for my storage water. I was just wondering where you guys keep your temps at during storage. Room temp? Outside? Where I am located it's normal for multiple months of 100+ degree summer days.

    Thanks!

  2. Mine is indoors. So, room temperature.
Best to try and keep as close to res temps as possible. Less shock to the plants come res change.

That is a good point. I use a 1/4 hp chiller and keep the ladies at 60-65. My room temp is 74 ish.

    Thanks

  4. I try to keep it cool...

the hotter it is, the less oxygen in the water

  5. Now what if you have adequate air in your tank. Let's say a commercial air pump with 4 or 5 air stones in there constantly. The only reason I bring this up is my room is limited as it is. I have plenty of room in our hot tub room. It is not outside but all that separates it form outside is ply wood and some poly paint sheets. Pretty thick stuff. Not sure how thick though. The res would be in a hot climate but not out doors. I would pull out the water I need and state it in room temperature for a day before changing my plants water though. From there the chiller will take over and be in my target range of 60-65 degrees in no time.

  6. I can't see that as being a problem.

  7. More air the better...

    I think that could work...

Will you use Lots of plumbing? Piping? Or just storage and then transport it over to a second container before watering?

  8. Storage and then transport.
