Portable Vaporizer

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by van778, Mar 4, 2015.

  1. Hello GC,

The reason why I'm making a thread on portable vaporizers is to help those of you new to vaporizing marijuana. I've been vaporizing marijuana for a number of years and came to the following conclusion:
    1. Saves you money\t
    2. Less damage to your lungs\t
    3. Cleaner high
The first vaporizer I bought was the Iolite Original and was pleasantly surprised with the performance. The Iolite Original is a butane powered portable vaporizer you can easily carry around. On the most part I am very happy with the device, but with any product, there are going to be downfalls. The following is what I think the pros and cons are of the device:
    \nPros:
    • Instantly refill with butane once it runs out
    • Can quickly start vaporizing
    • Good taste
    • Easy to carry around and store
    • Easy to operate
    • Only need a little bit of marijuana to get to a desired high
    Cons:
    • May not work well in cold conditions (you need to warm it up a bit to be able to ignite the vaporizer)
    • Sometimes after a butane refill, you will need to wait a couple of minutes (cold weather)
    • Smell of butane during the initial ignition process
    • Slightly noisy when heating up
    • 3 people max per bowl
I feel the Iolite will be a good starter vaporizer as it is easy to operate. The only thing you need to do is turn it on and press the igniter. In addition, it is relatively cheap compared to other vaporizers in the market. To those of you who smoke up frequently, you are better off going with a butane powered device than a battery powered device. I learned this the hard way buying the Pax. The Pax is also a great vaporizer, but charging it was a pain. In all, the Iolite will be great for those of you who like to smoke on the go, smoke frequently, and do not want to smell like marijuana afterwards.

I hope this short write up helped those of you who have not tried vaporizing yet.

  2. I own a pax, and for me its great, charging isn't an issue.  Use until light indicates low battery, put on charger and bam 45 minutes later when you need that hit, she is ready to go.

  3. I got a pax and love it. I'm thinking about getting a mflb next.

  4. I love my buddies Arizer Air that I use constantly, Vaping is definitley one of the best ways to medicate!

  5. The launch box is pretty nice too

If you're looking to get baked, a portable vape isn't for you. However, if you're looking for a subtle buzz so that you can still function perfectly fine then they are for you. I have a pax, and I enjoy it. It does release a very unpleasant odor for a short bit especially when heating up, so if you're going for a stealth approach, the pax may not be the one you want.

  8. I have a pax and a glass bong, I honestly prefer the bong, gets me higher faster.

  9. I have an arizer solo which I love. Not as stealthy as a pax but it can easily fit in my jacket or my pants pocket. The stem is separate from the vape which can be annoying for stealth issues but it's really durable and I can use it in below zero temperatures without a problem.
