Just setting up first grow. I got the small 2x2x5 Le Jardin tent now since I've chosen indoor location (bedroom) I'm considering LED. I was gonna put in in garage & needed the heat from traditional lights but now I've decided to keep tent indoors (away from dust,mold,pests) I'm considering going LED. I know it's small but I'm only gonna grow 1 plant at a time LOL (obviously). So I'm wondering will I need to heat up my room to 73ish or will it be warm enough in tent with LED? Also, how best to vent an indoor grow such as this? Anyone play music for their plants? Oh yes gonna try hydro (pearlite/vermiculite). Chica
I don't think you will need to warm up your room. Venting should be exhaust with a fan through the upper area, and intake at the bottom. Sure, lots of people play music for their plants, but it's not necessary.
I just changed from that tent but an older version. You can definatly fit 2 plants in that tent id suggest Scrogging them as its an easy area to control. I doubt you would have to heat your tent as its inside. I had mine in the basement with a 430w HPS and it had perfect temps. I did have to heat it with heat trace cables at night but my basements cold in the winter. I doubt your bedroom is. Venting depends on what your options are. Maybe run a few ideas you might have by us? I wouldn't do hydro. Id go soil for your first untill youve grown a few plants then try different techniques. Hydros a lot of work. Yes, hydro is tricky I will take that advice & go the dirt route. I'm a newbie so I hadn't thought much about exhaust but I had figured just run hose out window & another into tent? Crazy but that's why I'm here I need to learn. Does my light source impact my fan/exhaust system set up? (hps/mh give off heat vs LED cooler) so maybe less air circ needed? Chica
Make sure you do your research on soil too. Miracle Gro isnt what you want. For exaust again do your research theres a lot of good stickies in different sections. The general rule for exhausting is you want the air in your space completely replaced every 5 mins. Your light definitely impacts your system. HPS do give off quite a bit of heat but if you have a cool tube its not really to bad.
