Yes I don't understand why FB competitions are posted on GC. Most people here do not use FB, and if they do, they don't want to connect it to a seed company because of privacy. Making a fake profile is an option, but who want this? The seed company doesn't want fake likes, and I don't want to make a fake profile.
Actually they do. It's still advertisement. Even fake profiles will connect to other people one way or another. You're all making it a bigger deal than it actually is. No one is going to trace your damn fake facebook account because you participated in some cannabis seed giveaway competition.
I'm working in the website development branche and I can tell you: Fake profiles are totally worthless for companies. They are only used to create a high "Like" number. Also you don't know where I life, so how would you ever know if they are not gonna trace me? Different countries, different rules.
Gorilla seeds themselves recommended people to create fake profiles. I think they know better whether fake profiles work or not. And as far as someone tracing you, why would they? Buying or possessing cannabis seeds is not illegal. So what reason would anyone have to trace you?
Its not about if a fake profile is worth it or not. One, Facebook is known to be used by local authorities to gather evidence. Two this is Grasscity forums. If you want to have a competition on FB, keep it on FB. Or at least have an option for GC members to enter without having to have Facebook. Its like entering a competition then finding out you are not able to enter because of where you live.
