Is Buying Shake Worth It?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by PierceTheTurtle, Mar 2, 2015.

  1. So first of all, what the hell IS shake? It's just the left over crumbly bits right?

So some dude is trying to sell $5 bags of shake. Each bag is around .7 - .8.
He says they're mostly all Blue Dream or Plat OG.

So is this shit worth it?

These are probly some basicass questions but hey, this is in "Apprentice Tokers for a reason lmao.

Nope. I use my shake for edibles and extracts not for smoking straight up.

I wouldnt but it's your choice

    Chef.

  3. I wouldnt do it. Its highly likely to be oregano inside or spice. and using strain names to attract noob buyers

  4. Shake at a med shop is simply the loose bits accumulated after a day of selling.

At half the price of normal, it goes pretty quick and is all high quality.

It's a mix, so specific strains for pain management or other direct afflictions will not necessarily hit the spot.

  5. Depends the source its coming from. If its a trusted seller, it can be great value as some shake gathers thc.

Downside is you don't know what you are truly getting

  6. If you buy shake youre buying leftovers where trichs were probably removed.....

    Dont do eeeeeeet!

  8. Look at it and smell it before you buy to make sure it is in fact shake from dank, however, I'd say go for it. Shake is still bud with THC in it, it just feel off an intact bud.

  9. slap it in a grinder with a coin and shake it up you will get a bunch of kief

  10. It all depends on the shake.  Sometimes it's like crumpled up bits of leaves and trimming without many trichomes, but other times shake can be the crystals and tips of nugs and little pieces of weed.  If it's crystals and kief and pieces of nugs, then it's good.  If it's leaves and shit then it's bad.

  11. If my dealer has shake that is actually small crumbs of her well trimmed buds I'll jump on those bags any day. Usually 90-100 a half compared to her $150 a half for bud. I usually keep an 8th of it and roll it into blunts then sell the rest to friends. Whenever I re up and fill my glass jar up the bottom is always lined with keif. All of the good bud at the top of the bag has had the trichs knocked off and they fell towards the bottom. some bags of shake are well worth their money. I also love filling a glass jar with good shake and just scooping a bowl full whenever I want to smoke.

on the other hand if it's her stuff that's not trimmed as well I won't buy it again. I picked up a bag of shake for $30 for my friend and me rolled extendos with it but it wasn't the best bud. Really leafy and less trichs.

  12. I'll pick up a bunch of trim and shake to make edibles. Just made some hash cookies and canna caps that put me on my ass haha

  13. Shake is not trim.

Trim can be good, especially if the grower/harvester is getting really tight buds.

In most cases, it is leaves near the flowers and a bit less potent.

If it is from a really good strain with a great growing / flush cycle, it will slap you around quite well.

  14. I always referred to shake as the bottom of the bag shit (not necessarily bad, but just all the loose leaves at the bottom of a quarter sack)

and for 5 dollars I would buy it

1.6 for 10 bucks, I'd hop on that shit

  15. I've always thought shake to just be weed that is already ground up. I have a jar for nugs when i pick up but i usually take about 2 or 3 grams, grind them up and put it in my "shake" bottle, which is just an ornage prescription meds bottle. thus i can almost "pour" myself a bowl whenever. Makes it much easier than carrying a grinder and full nugs with you everywhere you go. If its legit then .7 for 5 seems like a good deal to me.

  16. For $5 you might as well give it a shot, if its just loose bits from breaking down some loud then its worth it

If its not, then you're only out $5 and you know not to mess with that guy next time

  17. I buy shake from my boy that is just leftover bud from his lb bags, because why not its cheap as shit and essentially ground bud. In your situation though, I wouldn't. Unless you've dealt with him before, which it doesnt sound like you have

  18. A few years ago I bought shake and the dealer told me it was the stuff at the bottom of the bag but I'm sure he was lying! It looked like crumbled up pot leaves to me and it tasted like leaves and it didn't get me very high! I complained to the dealer and got a refund! Didn't cost very much at all though.
