If the solution is in the problem, what approach is best to legalise globally?

  1. We've all heard the saying, right?

Look for the solution within the problem

What do we get when we apply this to (medicinal) cannabis?

I raise a sincere question here, as I don't know the answer either and would love to speculate on the topic!

I think the PROBLEM revolving cannabis, currently, is the fact that it is still misconceived as a drug and nothing but a drug, because of the focus on THC-dominant strains in the past few decades.

Therefor, the SOLUTION could be in that other well known cannabinoid, CBD, which does NOT get you high.

An extra problem arises though, in the form of people dismissing this argument as a false one, mistaking it's use for a disguised attempt at legalising weed to "get high" (not that there is anything wrong with that either, but when talking to the general population, it needs to be taken into account nonetheless).

Perhaps this problem also holds a solution:

Maybe we need more people who invest their interest in high CBD strains?

I would love to be one of those people, but living in a country where it is illegal to consume, all I get is THC, and while I shouldn't complain, I'm pretty convinced I would benefit greatly from CBD dominant strains.

To conclude this OP for now, I would almost come to the point where I'd argue that if we ever want this wave of legalisation to pick up, we need to shift our focus on CBD and consuming CBD strains.

I love cannabis and I love THC but you know what? I actually feel like I'm missing out on something. I actually feel as if my experience with cannabis is incomplete, as if past legislation has not only skewed and ruined the perception of this plant, but also the experience of it as a whole.

Recent research actually shows that CBD functions to negate the possible side-effects of THC. Hence, the past focus on high THC and low CBD, could well be responsible for the fact that some people respond badly to it. When you take a vital element out of a species through selected breeding, I think we could well be missing out on something here. I want that back, and I even think it is a needed element in order to achieve legalisation.

Why are the voices for CBD not increasingly becoming louder?

Why are not more people arguing for the fact that CBD dominant strains have potential unmeasurable therapeutic possibilities?

Why do I still have to get confronted over my cannabis use even if I choose to consume strains that don't even get me any high what so ever? Even though I have zero means of acquiring a strain that doesn't get me high, ironically and hypocritically... Society doesn't want me to get high, yet that's at the same time the reason why every strain available to me WILL get me high!

Why are we not all educating ourselves on the matter and asking the authorities WHY?

Because to keep CBD illegal is not only illogical, it is downright CRIMINAL.

The only market that is currently doing ANYTHING to promote CBD, is the one in the US.

So perhaps this thread is an appeal to you guys who live where it already was legalised:

We need more light to be shed on this other, lesser known cannabinoid, that could well change the face of this movement forever.

Thank you for reading, look forward to any and all insights!
