I want to buy a mh 400 watt for my 4x4x6 grow tent and I need some suggestions from a price range from 0-40$ I will only be using this light for veg as I will be using a plantmax 600 watt hps for flowering. I have a ballast not a degital one if that matters
If you have a reflector , socket, and ballast then you can pick up a bulb anywhere online for $40 ... If you don't have all that stuff then your fucked.. Remember you get what you pay for
I have everything and I know what im doing I have a cooling tube in my tent hook up to ducting to suck out the heat thru an inline fan I just want to know a good bulb I dont want to buy a crappy bulb

I'm using this bulb: \tXtrasun XTB2021 - 400 Watt - Metal Halide Grow Bulb - 7200K - 32000 Lumens - 10000 Life Hourshttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HYUS29K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Not sure where you're at but Fred Meyer has them for around $20 here locally along with several local shops. I think it works great, but I've never used one of the super expensive ones either so I can't really compare. Works great on a magnetic ballast, have heard some digital ballasts can have trouble firing the 7200k bulbs.
I will say,I've used a lot of different brands of lights,and my in my opinion eye hortilix is the way to go,broader spectrum and tried tested and true,but they are a pricier brand Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
