    Is this death?
On my first grow and just started the flowering process. Right before I started it I noticed on two of my plants the fan leaves are turning like this.
    Since then I have

    Raised the lights
    Cut the nutrients in half

    Any ideas?

It could be any number of things, can you take a photo of the whole plant?

So I did cut the nutrients in half, also raised the light, they seem to be doing better other than a few fan leaves turning yellow .

Should I be trimming these plants?
I just started my 12/12 cycle 2 days ago.

Other than the colour they look very healthy, the colour is very washed out so I can't tell what that is like but they have a good shape.

You can trim some of the lower branches if you want, but try to keep as many leaves as you can. Most of the trimming is best done after the initial stretch have happened about 2 weeks in and you can see what branches are best taken away

What nutes are you using? And at what % of the full dosage?

  5. I was having the same problem but only couple of leafs in the bottom turn yellow and died. Your plants look healthy to me...

I'm using general hydroponics flora series.

    Feeding schedule :

My stepfather really wanted to be apart of this project and so I let him handle the vegging. Which is why all the clones died. He gives me the "this is what I did before and it worked fine". He doesn't think the ph needs to be adjusted or that they need anything other than miracle grow for nutrients. I'm cutting him from this project.

These plants are about 2 months old. I decided to let them grow into the 5 gallon for a week after transplanting from a 1 gallon. They went from his fluorescent light to the hps light to veg for one more week until I just started the 12/12 cycle a few days ago.

Since then I've always adjusted the ph and to about 6.3 and fed them the correct amount of nutrients on the guide above.

I do a water/food cycle where I feed them the nutrients one day and feed them just water the next day. I've been doing about half a gallon daily per plant.

After I noticed some of the fan leaves turning on 2 plants I decided to change a few things.

    I raised the light
I water them or feed them once every other day
And I cut the nutrients in half

It asks for 4ml per gallon of each nutrient and I have a 2 gallon water bucket so I put 8 ml in.

I now am only doing 4ml of each nutrient per 2 gallons.

Since I changed several things, I don't know what caused the leaves to die but they are doing better now.

    Any suggestions?

  7. You shouldn't be watering on a schedule, but when the plants need it. The plants need it when you lift the pot up and it is light. In 5 gallon buckets they may not need watering for days. When you do water, water until water runs out of the bottom rather than giving them a specific amount. If you don't overwater, fertilizing half strength every other time should be fine. I agree on trimming around the end of the second week of flowering since that is a pretty bushy plant. Trim off the bottom branches, and trim out some of the weaker inside branches that won't see much light anyway.
