Cloning question

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by fgj, Mar 1, 2015.

  1. So my lady is 4.5 weeks into flowering and I want to take one of the lowest branches as a cutting. Could I transplant that to soil or would I need a cloner?

  2. Any opinions?

  3. No don't do it to late
Unless you might get it to take and you'll get have the bud you would have had

  4. I heard this method was called monster cropping and you can revert it back to a vegetative state

  5. I took two off of mine their 4weeks tomorrow. It's my first grow. It is called monster cropping and its ok up to 30 days I read

  6. I know it's called monster cropping I was more interested in whether or not I could place it straight into soil with cloning gel or if I would need a cloning machine? Thanks for the reply though man much appreciated

  7. You can clone just by sticking it straight in to soil. Cloning machines really just help cloning by maintaining a good balance of moisture and air. If you maintain the same balance in soil, coco, rockwool or whatever medium you choose the you can clone successfully. Cloning gel is a waste of money imo.

  8.
As long as the soil is suitable, and you keep the moisture and air content correct it will eventually root. Because it's in flower it will take a little longer than normal but it will root eventually. A hydro cloner makes the job much easier because the system does all the work for you, but soil works if you don't mind maintaining the moisture content. Moss peat is a great medium for rooting. Rooting hormone will shave some of the time off, but aren't a necessity

  9. I bought a hydro cloner last night but it won't be here for 2 weeks unfortunately so I just wanted to try this first thanks for the reply as always much appreciated goldgrower

  10. You don't need anything no fancy shit no gel no hormones no cloning machine take a good cut from good thick part of the stem better from the curvy area of the branch dip it in soil 3 weeks it will root, there will come to a point where it will look COMPLETELY down/dead but do not give up it will recover keep it moist as they need lot of humidity and water to survive due to no roots.

  11. I put some of Olivia's cloning gel on it and put it in foxfarms ocean forest under a 300 watt led do you think that will be sufficient?

  12. You posted a picture on that thread right at the end showing how much roots it has grown, how long did it take you to get roots like that?

    More than enough.

  13. Thanks for the reassurance man I hope it works out well

  14.
have you ever even tried this with marijuana? cloning requires a fine balance of requirements

You will want that LED several feet away. A 20w CFL would be better

  15.
About 2 maybe almost 3 weeks from cutting

  16. Awesome, I did it directly into soil without anything it worked but very slow, I'm okay with that though as I've started my new seeds even though my current grow is  1 week into flower.

  17. That's close to what I'm doing now I gotta couple of beans germinating now, and I just wanted to try cloning for the first time
