  1. Hey folks,

I'm seeking some advice on my current situation and hopefully someone on here can help me out...

Someone dropped off a plant at my place the other day, and i have absolutely ZERO growing experience/equipment. Right now, i have it under a 13W lamp, 24/7 and it seems to be doing ok,

I'm hoping there is a way to keep this guy alive until the spring, that way i can grow it outside.
I don't want to sink a whole lot of money into this, but i am willing to buy a new bulb or what-have-you if need be..

Someone also suggested that i keep a small, house hold fan on it, just on low to encourage the stem of the plant to strengthen for when the potential buds grow in... Perhaps?

I appreciate any advice contributing to my new plant's well being!

    Thanks,

    Wemayfall.

  2. The most important thing you need is more lights. A 13w cfl will do close to nothing for it, if you don't want to break the bank then just buy some light bulb splitters and a couple stronger cfls to give it more light. Another thing to do is run lights on 18 hours, off 6 hours a day and make sure it gets no light at all during the 6 hours or else it will stress the plant. Also definitely get a fan for some air circulation and to give it stronger stems. Doing this, you should be able to make it till spring when you can introduce it to the outdoors.

One thing you might want to consider as well if your not serious about growing is that since you just have this one plant you run the risk of having a male and then all your work is basically wasted. You might want to keep that in mind when deciding what course you actually want to go with this. Another option would be that instead of waiting until spring to plant it outside, buy a few more cfls and just grow it inside that way you would be done with it in ~10 weeks instead of October.
