First Edible?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by BluntSmoker33, Mar 1, 2015.

  1. I want to make an edible today. I was thinking of making a firecracker since its my first edible and I only need enough for me and a friend. The recipe I am using calls for .5 of finely ground bud per firecracker, I was going to use .7 on 2 of them and then .5 on the other 2 ( for my friend ) . I will be using rits crackers and a high fat peanut butter. I will also be first decarbing the bud by putting in the oven at 250 degrees F, for 15 minutes. Then I shall mix the bud with the peanut butter. Put the crackers together, Im making 2 crackers for each .7 and each .5, Then I will bake the crackers with everything while wrapped in aluminum foil for 22 minutes on 300 degrees F. Should this recipe work for a first timer? What should I expect the high to feel like being my first edible? Am I using enough bud per firecracker? I want to be ripped!  Has anyone tried this or a similar recipe and can share the experience with me?

  2. I personally don't like edible highs, too intense and you can't do anything. They taste like shit...beware

  3. I would guess the taste is unpleasant but bearable with milk. How intense would you say? Im looking to get that really intense high like my first time again but I dont expect that. I just am hoping for it to be stronger and last longer than when being smoked. Does this sound like it will work ? If you have any better suggestions or recipes I would love to hear them!

  4. If you are trying edibles for the first time then be safe and start with a lower dose. Throwing caution to the wind and chasing the most potent high of their lives is how people get in trouble. You can always smoke a little after an hour or two if you decide at that point you want a stronger effect. But the only way to get a weaker effect if you eat too much is to vomit, not fun.

  5. How much would you suggest then? It being mine and my friends first time. I dont know if weight and stuff matters but im 145 and 6'0 and hes around 170 and 5'5. I do smoke more than he does thats why i was going to use a slight bit more.

  6. I recommend to read the recipes in the "sticky" threads pinned to the top of this sub forum. These are the most popular and trusted recipes that have worked well for people. In each thread the recommended dosage is discussed.

Personally I try to eat the same amount I would be comfortable smoking. So if I usually smoke 0.1g in a session, I would eat 0.1g in my edible.

  7. Yeah thats where i got the firecracker recipe from was a stickied thread but now im going to use one called canna-peanut butter which is basically the same except you just mix 2 grams of dank to 2 cups of peanut butter in a pan and then baking it. Of course after the decarb and etc. Im going to be making it and eating it hopefully by 4 oclock or 5 at the latest. I will post back my experience

  8. Have you tried Korova, Koma, or Fourtwen products? Amazing taste. There are some edibles out their that do taste like shit though...like Kushy Punch lol horrible.

2.0g is a very big dose, be safe! ;)

  10. Where I live it's not legal so I can't buy them, always wanted to try weed soda and chocolates...mmm lol, I've made brownies which weren't too bad tasting and I've made firecrackers with nutella and with peanut butter, both of which were disgusting (I'm the opposite of fussy with food too) so idk...I prefer smoking high's anyway :)
Depends how much weed you use, the amounts you used would be fine, I get blasted off a half gram. And it isn't like smoking at all, the high is in your head and your body, definitely couldn't do much or go anywhere without people knowing you're high :) GL - Ben

  11. Well it will actually be about 2.4 split between 2 people but it seems like most people say that should be enough for a first time. So we shall see.

I appreciate the advice, and luckily enough I will be in the comfort of home without much worry.

  12. S'alright

  13. About to go and make them now, just picked up all of the ingredients and I will be using Caribbean Dream

  14. Please don't use 2 grams dank to two cups peanut butter unless you can eat one cup of peanut butter.  That's way too dilite.  Maybe you meant something else.

Let us know how it goes, please.  Enjoy!

  15. Well you are most definitely correct. I used about 1 cup of peanut butter because in the middle of making it i figured 2 was to much. I am not done making them and just started eating.

6:30 and im starting to eat. Crackers and peanut butter is my way of eating.

1 hour later, I am not really feeling anything. I have a very upset stomach because of the peanut butter but other than that nothing. I would also like to note friend seems to be saying he is higher than he has ever been. Disappointing but going to give another hour or so before i resort to smoking.

  17. You strained the herb out of your peanut butter, right? If you left it in, that would explain why you got sick to your stomach. ;)

  18. I did everything specified in that recipe. And I waited 3 and a half hours without feeling a thing. I then smoked and waited for another hour before sleeping. So i guess that means i failed my first edibles even though my friend claims in was the most intense high hes ever had...

  19. What I do is decarb the weed, then cook it at a low temperature in vegetable oil, then strain the solids out of the oil. (You don't want to eat the herb because it irritates the stomach.) The canna-oil can then be used in baking recipes (like brownies) or as a condiment.

You might just be one of those people with an unusually high tolerance for edibles. ;)

Did you eat anything around the time you ate the edible?
A light snack about 45 minutes before eating the edible is recommended. It helps "warm up" your empty stomach for the edible. Eat too much and it won't work.
