Ok so here we are 14 days into my 3rd grow. Meet Laura (purple cheese) and Pepe' (speedy gonzales). This is my 2nd go with Speedy G. This time I will not top him nor will I be topping Laura. This time around I will be doing a few things differently. I will still be using the Cyco Nutrient line...but...I will not be using Zyme. Also I will be using a reservoir filled much higher than I have done in the past. Props to @Goldgrower . I started these in Rockwool. No change there. But, instead of placing them in tent after popping and putting them under my 600w HPS. I will keep them under a T5 Fluorescent for the first few weeks of veg. I have been top feeding with Cycos Ryzofuel and Orca at 1/4 strength about every day or so.

  2. Solid plan mate, what's the EC / ppm of your nutrient solution at the moment?

  3. wish I would've seen your reply before now..I don't remember exactly. I do know it was higher than what I'm used to ...but I had decided to try water I ran through a filter. All the filter wound up doing is removing chlorine and basically cleaning the water. Not at all the same as RO water. I think ppm was like 250? Of just the water before the 2 added root nutrients. Not sure I'm going to continue using city water. Or maybe I'lldo one in city and the other in RO. Just to see. I'll give you a better answer later on today . However the pH I do rremember Laura:5.4 Pepe':5.7

  4. Ph: 5.5
    Ppm: 220

  5. Ok 21 days in and everything rolling along just fine. They changes I've made have shown fantastic results. I plan to transplant this weekend into their permanent pots. But after looking at the roots and how they've grown through the holes in the bottom of these net pots. I may have made a mistake and waited to long to do the transplant. I've never done a transplant before....well...at least not like this. It's been from where I started them in the Rockwool to the hydroton filled net pots. This is gonna be a bit different. I will have to remove the Rockwool and roots from this small net pot and basically replant into my bigger net pots....ph and ppm are still the same....except...I forgot to mention that my reservoir is just the "cleaned" city water. The nutrient mixture I've been top feeding with is RO water. PH of 5.5 and ppm of 30 with the Orca and Ryzofuel in it.

  6. Can't you just use the same pots and just lift them out and put them in their new buckets? If you need to use a bigger net pot I'd keep these in the ones they are in and just put the small pot in to the big pot on top of a bed of clay balls and then back fill around the pot, so you have a pot in a pot

  7. These two had a small pot inside a big pot. The roots grew out just fine

  8. Never occurred to me to put pot inside of pot. Not sure it would work with the pots I am transplanting into. Guess we'll see what happens. If it fails it fails. I'll start over and try again a different way......in that last pic you posted. The clear tub where you can plainly see the roots through the wall of the tub. Why doesn't that cause you problems?

  9.
It's usually wrapped in blackout plastic, I unwrapped it for the photo

  10. oh ok....guess I should've figured it was something like that. I am nervous as hell about this high water reservoir deal. It seems like it will be to wet. If that makes since in a DWC....how deep are your pots and how deep do you have yours planted? I can't fill them any more than they are. It would be escaping through the holes I have my airtubes running through lol

You want the clay balls to have a depth of a few inches above the waterline otherwise the plant could become unstable when it's young, but that's the only thing I would be concerned about. Onces enough roots come through the net pot it not going anywhere. This is how full my reservoirs get filled

If you aren't comfortable filling it right up then don't do it. It's not going to give you any huge advantage. But leaving a gap at the top serves no purpose as far as I see it

My net pots are about 4" tall. I don't understand what you're asking about how deep they are planted

Are your airline running through the sides of your reservoirs?

  12. if your pots are 4"...how deep in the pot is your Rockwool or whatever you're using? Yes air goes through the side of my buckets

  13.
I don't use rotwool, I have my plants directly in the clay balls. All else holds on to too much moisture

  14. so since I am using it. It would probably be a good idea to lower my water level, right?

  15. So far so good.....quick update. Both seem to be doing well to the untrained eye. Was kinda hoping I would see some kinda root action by now. That would've eased my worries a bit

  16. SUCCESS!!!!! ....Well.... as far as the transplant is concerned lol...anyway, I'm happy to see root action finally

Maybe until roots come through the net pot, if the rotwool is staying too wet. That stuff is hard to control

  18. Everything rolling along just fine. Had some slight temp issues for couple of days but I believe that's been taken care of. Humidity is starting to rise a bit. It was 34% in closet. After the transplant I went ahead and moved them to tent. HPS runs hotter than T5 so I think that may be cause of it. I'll monitor and when we hit maybe 65%-70%. I'll start running dehumidifier. Right now Humidity is 54%. PH is 5.5 for Laura and 5.8 for Pepe'. Ppm's are same for both 850. Last week I gave then half strength nutrients. I'm going to go ahead and hit 'em with full strength this week. Also will be going back to using RO water. Only real problem I see I have right now is this "soapy looking foam" in my buckets. It almost looks like a bubble bath. Maybe when I empty and clean for new nutrients it'll fix that. Did not have this issue before the transplant to put them in their own separate buckets......anyway here we are This week's final update pics. See ya next week

  19. This has absolutely nothing to do with my grow:
Oh happy day my buddy just brought me some buds from his last grow. Always willing to take a break from my own to try some strange. So each of these I will be smoking using a vape and I will also twist one up.

  20. Suds are back! !!! I cleaned my buckets. Filled with fresh water and nutrients. I also hooked up a smaller air pump. Just incase that was the problem. Everything was fine except for the sorry looking bubbles this pump produced compared to what I had been using.....as soon as I put my net pots back in the soup it turned back into a bubble bath almost immediately. I don't understand what happened. I soaked my clay pebbles in ph'd water for almost a week and then rinsed before I did the transplant. So I guess I need to rinse clay again. I wouldn't stress on it so bad but some of my roots are laying on top of the suds and turned brown.
