    Alice in Chains was light years ahead of Nirvana. They are completely different bands though.

    it's true they are very different but they were both classified as grunge in da 90's 
     
    and the fact that they made a comeback in the late 2000's without Layne Staley is astonishing. still making great music.

    Everybody that wore flannel was classified as grunge once that movement took off. haha
