New President

  1. So, does anyone else think that after Obama leaves we will most likely get a republican president who will ultimately destroy all efforts of cannabis legalization? I mean, Obama hasn't been the best president and a lot of Americans want to see someone new. All the new president would have to do is tell his people he doesn't approve of legalization, and to send the DEA out on raids to shut the entire industry down.

If this happens there won't be any hope for legalization.

  2. Yes, this is exactly what will happen. All our efforts gone to waste basically. What a bunch of BS.

  3. Unless it is Rand Paul.  He won't legalize federally, but should let the states have free reign.  There are also a couple more who truly believe in "state's rights", so we will be ok with them.

  4. I am not worried about this because there's not really 2 parties. Its a ruse to keep the people divided while the one true party just does what they want.

If there is a republican president they might pretend to be the opposite of the Obama presidency, but Obama was just a continuation of the Bush presidency disguised as a "democrat". The folks in charge already know how the next president is going to treat this issue.

  5. Most republican canidates believe in states rights, rand paul would be could as he would legalize federally
Most republican canidates believe in states rights, rand paul would be good as he would legalize federally

  6.
I don't think he would.  He may reschedule it and leave the states alone, but I don't think he would legalize it.

  7. nooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The next President will be Hillary Clinton....and I wish it were to be Rand Paul. I believe he would drop that fiction of calling himself a Republican and act like a libertarian instead of a confused douche. Hillary is just another hidden Neocon, a figurehead put in a position of power to further the goals of the mega rich who really run this world. WAR.....WAR is what we will get regardless of who gets elected if it isn't Rand Paul. And even if he gets elected, those neocons stir up enough shit worldwide to even make him do something stupid.

  9. I was actually thinking that Obama may perhaps try and pull something on his way out of the presidency in our favor (thats something we could hope for anyway). If enough states turn to legalization, i think that would carry enough weight to help national legalization efforts. I think its pretty apparent that a snowball effect is starting with all the states starting to form their own legislation on marijuana, and if enough states get that far then it might help in the long run if a new president or whatever political figurehead tried squander the efforts. A lot of other places are starting to rethink a lot of their drug policies, more specifically on weed (i think Portugal eliminated all drug penalties and they're starting to treat all drugs as health issues not legal ones) which means things im general could be getting more progressive. Idk I'm getting kinda rambly but you get the point hopefully!

  10. I think about this and I get kinda worried about it too. At least it was recently uncovered that Jeb Bush used to smoke weed when he was younger and there was at least one instance where he sold hash, so it would look really fucked up and hypocritical if he did crack down on the industry. We'd definitely be in trouble if Chris Christie became president, but I don't think he has a chance. Hillary said that she supports medical, but wants to see results from colorado and washington before giving an opinion on recreational. I think that the next president would be stupid to crack down on it when a majority of Americans support it. It still worries me, but I hope that the next president will support states' rights to make it legal even though they don't agree with legalization.

  11. We will all need to work together to make sure that progress moves forward, and not backwards.

  12. Well when you think about it, cannabis is already a very well established industry in this country. It's even on Wall Street now! Now think, Inauguration Day will be in January 2017. By then the laws across the country will have been reduced or removed completely. We could have 30 medical and 10 recreational marijuana states by then. Nobody would vote for a candidate who would deny over half the country their democratically given rights. Used to be all the potential candidates being asked straight up what their opinion on marijuana is, then giving the most vague answer possible, but that's not acceptable anymore. No states are refusing to look at this issue, and more are reforming every day, so if a candidate says no to smoke, they're saying no to votes!

  13. For someone to come in, they first have to be elected. Polls are done in our society for politicians and the rest of us to see how most feel on a particular issue. Politicians tend to take the poll results, and use them to address Americans on a subject they already have the answer to. When it comes to marijuana legalization, many states have decided to implement their own bills regulating possession and use. I doubt a new president will be elected that completely cracks down on Marijuana, as the popular choice seems to let the issue be resolved with States' Rights

  14. Just read an article that said Jeb Bush and Scott Walker are tied to be the 2016 GOP candidate according to a recent poll. Scott Walker sounds terrible, he's extremely opposed to legalization and believes in the gateway theory, he even went as far to basically say that alcohol is safer than pot!
