So Iast year I finished high school and I'm at home smoking weed, doing nothing with my life. Throughout my entire high school career I never knew what I wanted to become and never really became interested in anything.

I've been at home for about 2 months and had a job in January but my boss was also a stoner and was high most of the time so he forgot things and blamed it on me. So I quit.

Since then I've just not wanted to get up and do anything. It's pathetic. I hate how I am, I've been socially awkward until about the 10th grade. I've noticed I'm always worried about what other people will think about me and worried about fucking something up in front of people.

I've really tried to get out this shell but I always come back to being paranoid about what people think which just sends me back into my parents house.

I've looked on the Internet and heard about hypnotherapy and it sounds very promising. Apparently it can help with social anxiety and just change the way you are. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Any experience about it or even a story about a friend or family member that's tried it would be great.

    Keep toking!

  2. I would suggest regular therapy instead, but to my knowledge (and experience) it does work.

  3. Do regular therapy first. Learn to consciously cope with your anxiety and normalize social situation. This is coming from a Pysch grad with generalized anxiety disorder.
