I'm going to be acquiring my first beaker in a few weeks and while I'm sure the downstem it comes with will work fine and dandy; I'm sure that there are a number of others that can/will perform much better. What are your favorite or best performing diffusing downstems to use? (The one the beaker is coming with is a 14/18 shower head) Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

My buddy has one that has almost a little ball on the end, with slits around the ball. I've always loved the way it disperses the smoke, much better than the usual just hole in the end or fish gill style IMO.

Imo the shower heads work the best but if ur dead set on buying another down stem check out Alex k down stems. There amazing
im almost 99% positive that it will be a slitted downstem with a single hole at the bottom which, personally, i dont prefer for beakers. i would highly suggest looking into a showerhead or gridded downsten. alex k, mgw, roor, sovrereignty, among others all make either a showerhead or gridded downstem, or similar style. an ice pinch or diffused bowl will help also.
Alright I was thinking something along those lines, like a Alex k or a SG gridded downstem. Usually with bongs I hit them straight up and down, so should I go with the gridded? Personaly I think if it comes with the shower head it would be a waste of money to buy a new downsteam unless you know the one coming with it is blown shitty. Also downsteams are always angled so maximum perculation is possible with a showerhead
ive used the gridded a few times but my preference with beakers is a showerhead and its all i use. i prefer the chug and slight drag from it a little more than the gridded, though its perfect if you want less drag ( gridded downstem). showerhead always fires for me no issue. edit: you can also check videos of the different downstems in action on youtubes...
