This is my first time growing, so sorry if this is kind of a stupid topic/question. My seedlings have some yellow spotting that has started from the inside of the leaf and started getting bigger. I assumed it was from over heating and pulled the 4 CFLs I had hanging over the plants back a couple inches, as well as turned on two small fans around the plants. I looked at some pictures in other threads, but I feel like a new mother and my plants are special LOL So I wanted to include my own pictures. The seedlings are only a week old, so I wouldn't think nutrition would be a problem, but could that be it as well? Also, should I give them some extra darkness for rehab if it is heat spots?

I had the lights 1-2 inches away, now they are 3-4. Low wattage CFLs.

Also, to be more specific, they popped from the soil about 4 days ago, not a whole week.

I used miracle grow with extra worm casings and perlite, but plan on transferring to 3gal pots with foxfarm.
This just started two days ago. They're growing about an inch a day still. I really think it's the light though, I'm switching to cooler bulbs and keeping them at a greater distance.

  5. Nasty nute burn, caused by the worm casting and MG, both are way too hot for seedlings look to jiffys or rapid rooters, even seedling mix to start, either way grower has yet to know of the power of perlite.
Best you can do is study, .. then change those cfls to cool white for 3 weeks to reduce the nooby stretch, then have an even balance of kelvin for correct internodel growth

The cfls are changed. Should I transplant early? Into a seedling mix, or ff? They are looking a bit better. The leaves havent got any worse, anyway.

  7. I've uploaded a couple more pictures. The burn has pretty much stopped where it was at last time, and new growth continues, but now I'm curious as to if their growth is stunted at all. They're a week old now.
