Well the DG rooster apparatus comes in at $420 for a 16" bong. I'd prefer the larger one. Then the TAG DOUBLE frit come in at 16" but only $115. Very affordable. I know it's China glass, but does that affect the quality of the filtration at all? Will there be any difference between the DG and TAG fritted disks? Does a second frit disk even filter much more or is one disk going to do the job? Thank you for your opinions.
I remember reading that one blade here got a tag fritted disk and it would barely pull at all. If I were to get something from tag I'd grab one of their double honeycombs.
Had he tried a DG RA before though? Fritted disks add a lot of drag in the first place so maybe it was just that. I ask because China glass gets a lot of bad rep on here for not a lot of good reasons. It's cheap, so it is more breakable, but it's cheap and that's the appeal. If function is the same (and why wouldn't it be? Hence the thread) I don't see why I'd pay 4x the price for half the frit on a DG Rooster Apparatus over a TAG. Why?
It's literally a fact that the TAG disks are poorly made. In fact, if you utilized the search function of this forum you'd find a thread nearly identical to this one.
Yeah I remember which thread you guys are talking about. They sent him a piece with the frit mostly melted. He said he was pulling so hard that he would start to get light headed and it would barely pull anything through. I've never hit a fritted disc piece before but from what I've heard and read DG makes some damn good ones. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
if i was going to buy a fritted disk it would be DG eveytime, just like how i wouldnt buy a swiss perc made by someone other then Nate Dizzle or a pillar by someone other then Sov. They created it, perfected it, and theirs will always work better. not to mention the disprect your showing in buying a knock off. now i know fritted disks have been used in science labs for years but those arnt usuable in bongs so DG had to perfect his own system the human lungs could pull.
I have the 16" DG, dude the thing is amazing. Spend the money, its worth the investment for sure. I love it.
There's really not much out there that stacks like one of Goldsteins fritted disks. Awesome tube for the money....you just have to make sure to keep it clean.
On the fritted disk front I have heard some shady stuff about tag's disks, and i have heard dozens of people who love and use roosters daily, so if you have the money i would say go goldstein
