Choosing A Tent 4 U

Discussion in 'Do It Yourself' started by kemisthekid, Feb 22, 2015.

  1. I'm looking around and doing my homework on tents. If you have any particular brand or experience on tents... Please feel free to express your opinion. I got two plants in the living room and I want to take a better care of them by putting them in their own tent.

  2. I completely prefer do it yourself growing chambers. I bit of wood framing, and some panda film will do it in a closet or something. That said, if you want the best of the best in tents, get a Gorilla tent. Very high quality, and it'll last you many years if you take care of it. http://gorillagrowtent.com

  3. Thank you for the respond mate..

  4. I have the type that has two front doors that zip right across the top, bottom and straight down the middle. These are far better than the single door single zip types. The taller the better, you can never have too much height

  5. these things look pretty legit...i have never seen a tent built quiet as good and if it really gose up as fast as the videos WOW. i watched a friend spend probably 5 hours trying to put his together and its was major flimsy till he got the skin on it and even then it wouldnt have supported a mans weight.

Why would it need to support a man's weight? It's not a climbing frame.

It should take no longer than 20 minutes to put up a regular sized tent. What on earth was he doing for the other 4 hours and 40 minutes?

While watching your friend for 5 hours! Didn't it occur to you to give him a hand?

  7.  instructions were unclear and the actual construction was poor, he had to add alot of extra screw and such and there was allot of messing around. As for helping him i showed up part way threw and was instructed to do other things to help ease his frustrations.

now since you wanna go a pick a fight on the internet and sound super smart. how much weight the frame can support is extremely important? Your going to hang lights and hoods off the frame, Ducting?Carbon filters? Fans? Wires? this may not add up to 300 lbs for 30 seconds but 75 lbs over say a year? if the frame is of poor construction and the lights fall into your oh so flammable plants you might have a slight problem?

All i was doing was stating that this product looked pretty high quality compared to one i seen, and i mentioned the mans weight because they stated that it is spec'd to support a mans weight no reason at all to get all yippy lmfao

So asking questions is picking a fight where you come from? What a happy place you must live in.

I have never seen a tent that takes screws, they just slot in. And no one should need instructions, it's a fucking box frame with a cover, not a kit car.

Yes how much weight the frame can support is important, but it doesn't need to support a man like you said.

Can you put a link up to this magical tent you are talking about?

  9. Let's try to support one another so we could built a strong community online. I do appreciate all the responds. I'm looking online and I will post on what I decided to purchase. For now, I need a tall tent that will fit two plants. Two holes for air flow. hemptation420 you make a good point, the frame must be strong for light settings. Thank you GoldGrower for that laugh. I really need that, I'm stuck at work... =p

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the Gorilla tents that I posted a link for near the top of this thread.

  11. I got a little tent for my plants only for temporary reasons. It cost me 50.00 dollars and I got it from Walmart.

    make your own.

you can also use PVC and B&W poly to make one.

  14. I guess this will do until I start to save money for my gorilla tent. I really hope it keeps those big bugs out.
