LST Virgin

  1. This is my first attempt at using LST, I've only done it to 1 plant to see results, the baby is 17 days old (since it broke ground) it's got 2 full sets of leaves and it's growing its 3rd pair and beginning the 4th. Does this look right? ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1424180261.289683.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1424180330.551285.jpg

  2. Pointless this early on IMO, but you've got the idea.

Oh ok, yeah I figured it's a little too early, but I was worried about waiting too long, I will leave the other 2 undone for now, see how these go
EDIT: Should I undo the 2 I did do? I don't think it should harm the plants starting early as long as I was careful and didnt crush anything

  4. Its not pointless, it is very early because you run the risk of damaging the plant beyond repair, but as long as she perks back up you're good, and leave her alone for at least a week or two.

LST causes the plant to produce hormones that lead to a thicker hardier stem, soooo at any point in the plants veg state that's a bonus. Your plant should begin throwing horizontal shoots.

  5. Dude, read something.
    Undo?
    Didn't want to crush?

The entire point of let IS to crush the xylem, that's what releases the auxins.

Of done properly, there's no such thing as Undo. :) no offense intended. But read about it before you attempt to manipulate your plants...

  6. Well I meant crush as in like completely breaking the stem and the plant die. I wasn't sure if me doing it too early would have adverse affects

You should be alright, if you really want to optimize your cyto and auxin manipulation, wait untill your third set of leaves and do a small FIM.
After the plant begins to grow again and you see the split in your apex then supercrop via internodal twist on your first two nodes.
Then leave the plant alone for 2-3 weeks, seriously, don't touch it. Just completely leave it alone, no stress at all.
Then FIM and supercrop via internodal twist and then tie down your top branches about a week before you put them into flower. Then the day before you flip to 12/12 or alternative flower sched, lollipop the bottom 60% of your plant.
Then do a final lollipop about 10-15 days into flower.

Then completely leave the plant alone throughout flower.
If you are growing a sativa based strain that runs 10+ weeks in flower, push back the last manipulation a week.

This strategy is about as perfect as it gets, releasing optimum amount of aux. And cyto without causing hermie inducing stress.
    Its a proven strategy.

There's million ways to train a plant, but for your first time keep is simple.
Cannabis needs consistency, and while stress at the appropriate time can increase yield and potency, it can also stunt growth and induce terrible effects upon the plant.
