What the report does not say much about, is how old Americans are when they retire, compared to other countries. A number of people never even get to retire, or are so old and worn out when they finally do, they don't even get to live very long after leaving the workforce. </blockquote>
Dude your in the other thread bitching about how money makes your greedy and now your bitching about people not having money to retire. Try getting a consistent belief system
I was being sarcastic, guys. Some of those countries are socialist and they have better retirement prospects.
I agree but we can't really say the problem with our society is too much socialism when socialist countries have lower aged retirement and higher life expectancy.
It depends on who you ask. Most right-wingers worldwide would consider welfare states socialist. High taxes to pay for various entitlements is a socialist concept to them. That's important considering they're the biggest obstacle when trying to create anything resembling a welfare state.
That's not an appropriate answer. It either is or it isn't. Welfare and taxing the rich is not what makes socialism regardless of one's perception. These "socialist" countries that you're speaking of are rooted in the Capitalist superstructure and maintain their status through U.S. imperialism and expropriation of capital from the Third World; ergo, they are Capitalist.
Bahahahaha! Oh boy, I was about to refute but there is no sense in arguing with someone who idolizes the tyrants you have in your avatar.
Welfare, entitlements and taxes redistribute wealth to the underclass which does fit in with socialist principals. Ultimately those countries have a healthy mix of socialism and capitalism.
