Souls

  1. I saw another thread a little but ago talking about soul reincarnation and if souls migrate from body to body that would mean that they can't die and that they are probably millions of years old. If so how did the souls get created? Did they all get created at once or in different times? And if there is a changing population of people on the earth would there be extra souls to accommodate the population flux or would the bad people be the ones who didnt get a souls because there wasnt enough?

  2. I think that if you take a look at some of the souls driving some people, it would be hard to argue that bad souls don't get to occupy bodies. :smoke:

  3. life is nature and nature thrives on balance

  4. What if a soul does live through several lives and occupies many different bodies but is itself still mortal? Perhaps a soul can last about 50 lifetimes but after that it perishes and is never reincarnated again...

  5. I have none, apparently. Oh well, doesn't stop me from enjoying my high.

Really though, I hope souls don't experience multiple lives on Earth. I just want to chill after this life, smoke some good weed and play a small part in helping guide people toward happiness during their time here if at all possible.

  6. if souls are able to reincarnate I wonder what race I was in a previous life? something to smoke some to lolB)

  7. IMO The soul is a form of energy, JAH/GOD energy i would say. We're made of matter that contains JAH energy, and JAH energy makes its presence felt through us. Energy cant be created nor destroyed so the soul most have come into existence at the same time as GOD or better, the soul is a piece of the beginning. It just keeps finding ways to know and express itself.

As you somewhat said Dude^^^, it's all an extension of Conscious Awareness in the form of energy-a way to grow it's Being....IMO

It could be that we join again with it briefly and come back with our own consciousness to improve the last one. (advent of technology, new realizations, such like). There is a Higher Self.....us meeting our ideal......that is always with us. Our job is to realize it. In that way, it doesn't matter if you reincarnate at all.

Possibly a Master's consciousness had reached mass effect so it would join and move on to another Universe to expand more.

Anything is possible, until you prove it's not....maybe....even then.

  9. Just out of curiosity. What is a soul? How do you guys know that souls even exist? What seems more likely. That there is an unseeable entity/force that is the essence of our being which we can't see measure or understand. Or that we are merely just a collection of atoms that has evolved into beings with consciousness. The latter seems much more likely to me, but maybe I'm wrong.

Most folks I know use the term to mean mind, will, and emotions. Unfortunately, each of those three are demonstrably the result of brain functionality. So when the brain is cremated or tossed into a hole in the ground, I certainly wouldn't expect to have any mind, will, or emotions taking place.

Many people use the term interchangeably with spirit but the two have different (though similar) meanings and historical usage. The Greeks called soul, "psuche" - the life breath. They called spirit, "pneuma" - air or wind - i.e.  an invisible force that can produce visible results. They're related but definitely don't have the same connotation. The spirit, as some ineffable force that can affect the physical realm, has a shot at existing after death whereas, according to modern neuroscience, the soul doesn't stand much of a chance.

After one dies, the atoms that made up the human body go back into nature. Then they may collect with other atoms, that may eventually collect into another living thing.

Scientific reincarnation with no soul needed...

  12. IMO Dr. Robert Lanza explained this soul shit the best. He calls his theory Biocentrism. Basically consciousness is not generated by the brain, in fact consciousness exist outside the restraints of time and space. It's able to be anywhere: inside the human body and out. It's non local in the same sense that quantum objects are non local. The body receives consciousness the same way a cable box receives a signal. Just because YOUR house doesn't have a working cable box doesnt mean that HBO isnt on somewhere in the world. Therefore the death of the body cannot be the death of consciousness. Since its in a sense "non local"  its able to live on without the need of a dumb ass fleshy ass shell we call a body. I like to look at it like this. OBE's, NDE's, lucid dreaming, astral projection, all cases of you being unconscious in one place and conscious in another. Those are times where the soul goes and plays amongst the other dimensions, and when it gets back the brain gives us a rough draft summery of what just happened.

  13. Unfortunately just saying something isn't true. Is there any logical reason or evidence that something like this is true. Sounds like a bunch of bs to me.

  14. Not gonna disagree with this. Definitely share the same belief. We will be in a form one day that is nothing like our current one. If you think about it really parts of you have already been scattered all over the world because we are constantly losing and gaining cells even before we die.

  15. Everything sounds like a bunch of bs when it comes down to the soul. Have a lucid dream and explain it to your bitch, she'll think your full of shit. Tell your buddy that you just had an obe and he`ll say your lie'n your ass off. Be on your death bed and have a NDE, and the masses will try their hardest to disprove what you've experienced. So yeah, it might sound like bs to you, but it sounds like the 9th to me.

Spark up..... and let the soul take a drag.

  16. That's fine. Believe what you want and I'll believe what I want. I don't think either of us is gonna be able to say anything that changes each other's minds.

  17. I wish I could believe what i want to believe.

  18. Guess what? You can't! lol

Even our seemingly deliberate choices actually rise up like bubbles released from the depths of unconscious realms of brain processing. The decision has already been weighed out and determined before our "I" even become conscious of making it! Kinda weird.

  19. Yeah when i first started looking at determinism it really blew my mind. When we start questioning free will a lot of people won't even accept where we're going as a possibility but if you look at it logically then you see that everything is just one big system of causes and effects and our brains are a part of it just like everything else.

  20. When you die, you're dead. That's my take. Souls aren't floating around or turning on and off the lamps of earthly relatives. They aren't reincarnating, either. I choose this perspective because I have always felt this way, and anything beyond seems preposterous to a degree.
