Cover up tattoo advice/help?

Discussion in 'Tattoo, Piercings and Body Art' started by Retrocat, Feb 13, 2015.

  1. When I was 19 my sister convinced me to let her boyfriend tattoo me. She had nice tattoos and said he did some of hers, so I agreed.
I thought it over and just wanted an outline of a labrys. Really simple, easy to fix later if it wasn't right, or I could fill it with a professional design later... I thought it through!
He didn't like the idea at first and eventually agreed, and started building the gun.
I wad scared because he essentially made a prison gun. Made with random parts (Phone charger, spring from a lighter for the needle, and hobby lobby ink. I have regrets.)
He did it and it was terrible. Handle was crooked, it was mostly scar tissue, and he did "shading". I got another friend to try and fix it but I just literally hate it at this point.
It's like a pile of shit with glitter on it. Like it's not 'awful' but it's certainly not a "yo, check out my tat!" Worthy.

I want to cover it up if possible or even just improve it. Any thoughts? ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1423833816.064659.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1423833829.733556.jpg

  2. The 'flames'and hearts on the side are by my friend and are okay. But even them I could cover.

  3. A quality artist could cover that up easy. You'll likely have to qo quite a bit larger to cover it correctly (maybe double the size). Quality tattoos arent cheap.
