Little aphids/bugs in grow room crawling on the soil. How to deal?

  1. I just noticed this.  It doesn't seem to be a major problem yet.  I just encounter a few crawling on the soil.  I haven't seen anything on the leaves.  Although I have noticed some leaves cut, or missing....but I'm not sure if that is my own error from moving them and cutting them, or the bugs/pests.

What is the most efficient, widely accepted, and organic way to deal with this without harming the plants at all?

    Thank you.

  2. Get some ladybirds, no idea how but they really work in controlling pests.

We call him Chief Kief now

  3. I just had that problem so i got kid play sand and put a layer over the dirt and bought yellow sticky paper to deal with the ones that didn't die from that

  4. Perlite helped me once I seen a bug I ran to Home Depot picked up a bag and ever since I haven't seen anything crawling in my soil and I'm pretty sure it's been helping me control my watering

  5. Buy Neem oil at your local gardening store, along with a spray bottle. Mix with water according to directions on bottle. Spray all the plants well, once a week, throughout your vegitation stage. It will only kill the bad bugs like mites and aphids. It is also preventative to ensure you won't have a mite infestation by the time you are ready to flower.

  6. I agree totally. Raw soil that is not topped with perlite is creating a hotel for pests. That is why there are so many threads about pests on the forums.... growing in soil is great, but it attracts pests like crazy....
