Crossing high THC strain with high CBD strain, which should be the male?

I have a few strains with high THC content (21%+) that were all from feminized seeds. I have 6 regular Jamaican Lion seeds and have been thinking about growing them out and possibly crossing it with one of my other plants. When crossing the two, does it matter which way I do it? I've never done breeding before, nevermind with high THC and high CBD strains. Would you recommend using the Jamaican Lion males to pollinate one of my high THC moms, or would I be better off using CS to gather pollen from a female clone to pollenate a JL female? What differences could I expect with each method?

If want fem seeds, the obvious choice is CS with two females, but keep in mind, the plant you spray will be garbage after you get your pollen. You can not safely smoke or consume any of it in any way. One plant is easily worth giving up for all female seeds if you want bud production without seeds. That said, if you want seeds at some point, you might not want fem seeds. If that were the case, it's just playing with genetics, and a lot of it is chance. I would think someone interested in high cbd's would have the high cbd strain as the female, and the high thc strain as the male, and vice versa for the opposite. There are a lot of variables, and cross breeding is very unpredictable.

Think of it as a science experiment :bongin: :smoking: :hello:

  3. do both as you don't know till its done what will be passed on.....yeehaw

  4. You will want a, proven and tested, high cbd female. Otherwise its a bit of a crap shoot. You know what genes you are putting in with the female, but the proof is in the offspring. The cbd could get masked by the male traits. I feel you would achieve the desired result faster this way rather than to pollenate with only potential for high cbd. Would be an easier job stabilizing the cbds within the following generations as well being able to back cross new males to a proven female.

  5. Do both male and female separate the resulting offspring, sprout a hundred of each offspring and send documented samples to a lab to have them tested for thc:cbd ratio. Cull the none cbd samples, back cross the cbd samples back to the original parents, sprout seeds and repeat until your offspring has the cbd ratios you want.

    OR...

Buy some CBD strain from a reputable breeder like CBD crew etc...
