Hi all! This is kind of a long story, I apologize, but I've just read so many other stories and the advice to go with them, but I feel like mine is a bit different and I really want to fix this weird problem!

I've been smoking for a little less than a year now, starting out with just a few times a month, then to a few times weekly for a while, and then every night or so in December. I'd take anywhere between 2-6 hits and feel blazed. Towards mid-December, I found myself feeling cloudy after a bowl but definitely not like I was used to. I've always gotten a little paranoid when I'm high, but nothing too scary, usually just from sitting in the same spot in my car for too long and fearing getting caught.

Then, about 3 weeks ago, I was feeling pretty nice and decided to pair a few hits of tree with something. At first, it was pretty awesome, but it went downhill very fast and I had a sort of panic attack: heart beating way too fast, I thought I was going to have a heart attack and die. I think I even had shakes or tremors of some sort, but I'm not really sure. I forced myself not to sleep because I was afraid I wouldn't wake up, although finally I did.

Next morning I woke up feeling normal again, just glad it was over, and attributed to the crazy night from mixing. But almost every time I've smoked since then, maybe 4-5 times, I'll notice my heart beating fast and for a little bit I get kind of paranoid and worry that something's wrong, and feel kind of restless and uncomfortable, my chest will feel really heavy and I go back and forth between wanting to lay down and wanting to move around. I feel like sometimes I could've been stoned, but the anxiety ruined the high. Although lately I've gotten a lot better of talking myself out of it, but then I'm just left with a heavy head and I don't really *feel* stoned.

I took a week break completely to prepare for a concert, and when it was over I was a little nervous to smoke, but I just took 2 hits of mids from a pipe, and felt a little uncomfortable and scared for a bit but talked myself out of it, and was kind of an enjoyable high for a little bit but it faded pretty quickly into the drive to the venue. I had a few drinks at the concert and got a pretty nice drunk, and back at my friend's apartment took 4 hits and felt pretty stoned, though I always feel more messed up when I'm twisted obviously.

I don't want to give up on marijuana because I really appreciate the experience it lends, but it's been over a month since I had a really enjoyable high. Any suggestions or advice would be so appreciated! Thank you bundles :)

  2. This same thing happened to me. I actually let it rule my life a lot because I couldn't fin any searches suggesting what it could be really. It happened to me every time I smoked for about 10 months, and then I got some anxiety meds, took care of whatever anxiety causing issue I had, and then started up again and it has never happened again since. But it didn't get better until I finally fixed it, it kept getting worse and making me depressed because that many panic attacks will leave the brain dry of serotonin. So whether or not you decide to take my course of action, it is important you fix the issue instead of continuing smoking like I did.

    ~Good luck with your adventures.

  3. It used to be called " freakin' out". It's fairly common. Us old stoners just got used to it. It was much worse for us back then too because all the smoke we had was sativa. No hybrids. No Afghanistan or kush to soften the blow. Just smoke less and work through it...It only lasts about 20 minutes.

  5. you're getting too high, you're smoking sativas, you're smoking too much. take it easy, try to find a stoney strain, sativas amplify anxiety indicas make you very relaxed. And the higher bpm is normal side effect, just keep in mind no one has ever died from it solely.

I find if i start thinking of my bpm, i just get on a video game or start exercising and i forget about it within moments

  6. You should be paranoid. That is the little part of your brain that will die if you get assraped in prison telling you to not be sitting on the side of the road doing dope.
So far you said you'd get a DUI, a posssesion of Cannabis, a paraphanelia, and what ever the other thing was....  Irresponsible, immature, dangerous and flat out fucking DUMB. Thanks for all your hard work trying to increase scrutiny when we are making progress, and making us look bad through your poor performance.
