Hey everyone this is my very first medical grow. I think i have encountered my first problem. Does anyone know why the leaves are curling this way?

The girls have been watered today with ph'd water of 6.5. They're under an 85 watt CFL and 4, 20 watt CFLs surrounding the 85. it is 72 degrees and humidity in the 60's % range.

There was 2 pc fans blowing directly onto the plants but they have been turned away from the plants, i was thinking it was possibly the wind causing them to curl this way. Also my CFL is about 4-6 inches away from the top of the plant and i have put my hand ontop of the plant and the light is not warm at all.

Is it possible that i need to give them more water? Or is it possible that everything is okay and i am just over-reacting?  :smoking:

I have attached photos so you can get a closer look at this curl i am speaking of.

I'd also like to add that these plants are 17 days from seed. Do they look good? When should i top them?

    Any ideas??  :)

  5. He's right. Almost every seed I've planted has had that type of curling on the first few sets of leaves

Thanks i feel good about it now. I figured everything was alright and i was just over reacting a little bit. Just wanted to make sure it was nothing serious. I think i'll go back to putting the PC fans a little closer to get the plants wiggling a little bit.

  7. no proof, just my anecdotal observation, I believe curling can be cause by too much wind from the fan. In the summer I keep the fan pointed at the light. If I raise the light and don't adjust the fan accordingly, leaves start to curl. I don't use a fan in the winter when air is dry and ambient temps are lower.
