New Canadian Anti-Terrorism Bill...

  1. Election time in Canada.  Since the collapse of oil, the continued soft job market, crappy economy and the lowering of the prime rate and what THAT means, it's all the con bums got.  Plus, the Duffy scandal could very well be front and center during peak electioneering.

If it passes, we're moving to America :metal:

  2. Lol and us americans have been joking about moving to Canada for years, especially if Sarah Palin became president.

  3. That bill IS a terrorist attack.

    'terrorist'

  5. Oh how sad things as such can take place. How can you just write up a note on a piece of paper and have 35 million people obey the order without consent of even 1%. Lord has this place gone astray. ( Yaya I know it's not official)

  6. Every country needs a major civil libertarian party...

Yet not a single country has one.

At least Canada isn't full of overflowing semantic bullshit like here in the capital of lameass nonsense - Washington, DC. Our nitwits are so dazed and confused it's all they can do to even use the word "terrorist". That's because they're on record stating they would never deal with "terrorists" - but then, for whatever bizarre delusions, decided to deal with terrorists by trading "five top Taliban commanders" in return for an Army deserter.  So their defence is to say, "but they weren't 'terrorists'" and so, in their mental warpage at least, that somehow magically erases their obviously idiotic fuck up. But really it's just another example of the pathetic "it depends on the what the definition of 'is' is" strategy. A strategy which has proven to dovetail nicely with the intelligence level of at least half of the American voters.

So all things considered, if I were you I'd be thankful to live in a nation where preposterous lies and deliberate deception aren't the standard daily fare.

  8. Our democracy is healthy enough that these law could be gone, reformed or refined by next year, depending on who wins.

  9.
Supreme Court challenge too - no love lost between the SC and Mr. Harper.

  10.
I hope so. If there was more public discourse and involvement in these things, then only good would come of it. As it is, I think there should be an effort made by the regular people to make these issues more visible to our citizens.
