Hey folks I need some help.. Alright, so I've got an extractor fan attached to a carbon filter and its too damn loud!! The fan is not noisy, its the sound of the airflow that is creating all this noise. I need to turn down the fan speed to control the sound.

DIY is my only option at the moment.

I have read in various forums that I can get a ceiling fan dimmer and rig it up to my extractor. I am hoping to get some information from someone that has experience with this method or any other DIY method that works!

    Fan Specs:
    6 Inch Extractor Fan
    230v
    50hz
    58w
    IP 44

I have attached a picture of my fan and it's specs just in case I've missed any vital information.

    Cheers folks! Happy Growing!
