First time qwiso, what do you think?

  1. So i picked up a half O of some real killer smoke. Decided I'd try my hand at qwiso since I've done bho before. I always liked the idea of the qwiso method, way easier to purge and you can end up with a great product. My first wash came out as a beautiful golden/Amber honey oil... .. I expected something more solid. How can I make it shatter next time? Is it just dependent upon the strain I am using or what?

I gotta quit forgetting to put my pictures in my posts 😝

  3. Give some details of your tech. At first glance I would say it looks underpurged.

  4. hey thanks for the reply... I did a 30 second shake, poured through a screen into 2 unbleached coffee filters into Pyrex ... I did a short hot water bath in sink and then I let sit out for over 24 hours. It does not smell of alcohol or even taste of it... It tastes really damn good actually! I have had multiple people hit it and nobody has said it is harsh or anything. It doesn't leave residue on the nail or crackle or anything. Let me know what you think
I had a fan on it for a few hours too. And it's been in and out of the freezer a couple times

  5. It's been close to 2 days and it still in wax consistency

  6. Shorten up the wash to 15 second max. Are you using 91% iso? Honestly cheap drug store iso is a terrible solvent. Iso has a pretty high boiling point which makes it difficult to completely purge. Just because it didn't spark or have a harsh effect doesn't mean it's clean. Especially if you used no heat. When you let iso/everclear/ethanol concentrate air dry it forms a resinous layer on top and of you don't use heat it can never reach a low enough viscosity to let the solvent escape. 100 degrees for at least 3 days if no vacuum.

  7. thank you, where can I get a good hot plate that holds proper temps?

  8. And don't worry about making shatter. Get the basics of purging your oil down first. But to answer your question, to try to avoid waxing, which I don't really see in your pictures, just looks sappy, you must dehydrate your material and then freeze it in your jar or whatever overnight.

  9. assuming your tech is on point, consistency is strain dependent. I prefer something more on the sappy side over shatter any day
