will my seeds germinate?

  1. I have been trying to germinate some seeds, 2 of them are already germinated, but the rest of them is still intact how long does it take for them to start germinating or will they still germinate? they have been in damp paper towel for 4 days now...

  2. It is hard to tell, do you have a heat mat under the seeds so they stay warm (about 80 degrees)?  Also Do you have them in a plastic bag so they stay humid/wet? On youtube there are some good videos for germinating seeds.  There are many things you can do. Like scuffing the seed a little bit so it can break open. Also there are some chemicals you can add to help with process. gl mate :)

  3. Don't be adding chemicals, I don't know about you but I don't want chemicals next to anything I'm growing. if a seeds viable its going to germ rather its in a wet paper towel or in moist soil. Is the paper towel wet? Or damp?...you can drown a seed if left wet or submerged in water to long

Seeds placed in folded over, very lightly dampened paper towels, placed in a zip lock bag and kept at 25℃ should germinate in 48 hours.

The only problems you're likely to have are going to come from having the temperature too low, and having the paper too wet. Not much else can go wrong

  5. I recently started growing and ran into some trouble on my first grow. figured out my problems and decided to do a practice run on some bag seeds but ran into a problem germinating them.

I soaked them in a cup of ph'd water 5.8 and let them soak over 24hrs in the dark. they all started to open up so I soaked my rock wool cubes in about a 20- 30% nutrient solution put them in the cube's and was pretty happy so far. 3 days later they still havnt grown tap roots. 1 of them which was the first to open up is about 3-4mm long but hasn't changed in the last day or 2.

What am I doing wrong? and are they saveable still or should I just chuck them and try to find somemore bag seeds??

Probably over watering, rockwool holds on to a lot of water and can drown small seedlings easily. Don't ever soak seeds, they need a lot of air to thrive and soaking will just suffocate them. it's best to use empty water for the first week, they don't like nutrients at this stage

  7. ok thanks for that mate :) Much appreciated
