This while world is fucked

  1. I hate the fact that or world has evolved into a self-absorbed society where it's no longer survival of the first, but survival of the richest. You cannot trust in governments who are built on secrets and lies. They openly admit that they lie, that they don't tell us things. What right do they have? Why are you letting this happen?

The government is supposed to PROTECT it's people, not continually anger other nations and make them hostile threats for reasons we're unaware of. THEY are supposed to be representing US, making a better country for people like US. WE are not supposed to slave at jobs we hate to fund unnecessary violence abroad. WE should be the main focus, not the funders.

Since when was life about collecting stupid pieces of paper? Or, more recent, electronic numbers in an account. Life is about laughter and experiences. It's waking up every day and seeing something new. It's having free choice as a reality, not an illusion. We are slaves with better living conditions and ignorantly refuse to acknowledge the truth before our eyes. And that and that is their greatest asset. Our shackles may have turned to neck ties and high heels, but we are nothing but canon fodder.

When shit gets bad, and there's a war. It's people like you and I that they brand as collateral damage.

  2. Sounds like the typical ramblings of someone with no money

    Speak for yourself.

  3. That's exactly what i'm taking about. My fincial details are nothing to do with the kind of person I am. Personally, i'm not about the money. Money is what makes us willing slaves. It is legal greed. It allows us to be fooled into the illusion of free will. We have lost sight of what is important, freedom and happiness are two rights every person should be born with

  6. Our world is still based on survival of the fittest.

Remember fitness is not defined by individual strengths, but as a groups abaility to survive and reproduce.

The genes that told us to hoard nuts in the winter, and guard our territory, serve us now as they ever did.

The greediest and most ruthless are at the top. Just as its always been.

  7. I agree OP. Its a debt based society. I have said elsewhere, i believe people make money a priority because in this society money = freedom. The underlying motivation is ultimately the freedom that money represents.

  8. fuck george carlin he complained about golf courses too

  9. you sound pretty ignorant

  10. So you don't want to work but you want everything life has to offer? There's too many people for everyone to have everything they want. You have to work harder than the next man to get yours, nobody is gonna hand you an easy life.

Blame whoever you want but life is what you make it. There's no law that you can't laugh and have new experiences everyday.

  11. I invest in chaos

  12.
George Carlin complained about everything. It's like watching my grandpa watch the news.

  13. I'm beginning to like your grampa.  You should pay attention.

  14. I like to call him the poor people's comedian. Because that was the only demographic of people that identified with his content.

  15. I really likes his skit about New York accents -

  16. LOL I think he appeals to...all. I genuinely think comedy contains enormous amounts of truth, if used in the right ways and boy did he provide. Keep in mind he kept everything in layman terms/grounds it down to being human so it may seem of the lesser class.

    He gotta lotta funny shit.

  17. This is something I hear all the time. I never said I wouldn't, or don't want to, work. On the contrary, without a government not working wouldn't be an option, you'd have to so you can survive.

What I don't agree with is that you work, the worth of your time is determined by people who've never even heard of you, and after you spend hours doing a job you probably hate, you're forced to give money to the people who rule you, so they can decide how to spend it. That's wrong.

And if the system is so great and works so well, why is there so much poverty and suffering? Why're tensions so high with Russia and the middle east? If our governments are so concerned about our safety and wellbeing, why the hell do they keep pulling us into wars and conflict that end the same way every time? Hundreds, thousands, millions of people die, they settle it by talking, and everyone moves on. The only people who benefit from this are the ones who start it.

Nobody is forcing you to work or do anything you don't want to do. You feel obliged to do those things because that's what you've been taught is right. But you still have your freedom.

And taxes are used to build and improve the society you live in. Sure a lot of it is getting squandered but that's not your concern. Unless you choose to get into politics and make a change but we both know that's not going to work with the system in place.

But this is society, you work, make money and buy things to make your life easier. Another option would be to move to Burma or Nepal and live with the monks. But that shit's boring.

I agree with you on the foreign affairs point. No government should try to influence people on the other side of the planet.

But the self indulged part, not so much. People are free to do what they want and they choose to be decadent and narcissistic. You have to respect their choices because otherwise you won't be any better than the people you don't like.

You have the freedom to do what you want. If you want to laugh and experience things as you stated in your first post then do those things.

But you're living a privileged life, that's pretty clear. Your biggest concern is how others are spending their time rather than making a living, paying rent, raising a family etc.

I live in Europe (Sweden) and we have issues too. Poverty, crime, suffering, constant fear of a Russian invasion. Although we know you yanks have our backs. Right? Please say yes.

But we still live in the best place on earth (western world, and Japan, S. Korea, Brazil and some Eastern European countries). In the sense that we are free. We have the right to say what we want, do what we want to do, dress as we want. You should visit some less free countries and see the difference.

My point is you're aiming your own personal confusion and frustration at the people around you. You have a lot left to learn. First lesson - don't judge. However you spend your life is probably the subject of irritation to some people.

My advice to you is to see things from another perspective, from a more objective view. See that there are no shackles or people trying to get you. Or take your own advice - travel and experience and you'll realize how good you have it.

    TF's a "while world"??

You write like you just figured out how to sharpen your words with a heavy streak of teen angst. The world is not as cut and dry as "works or doesn't"

There may be no one putting a gun to my head and forcing me that way, but if it wasn't necessary,i wouldn't be in my current job. I'd quit and do something I love. But that's not possible. You need money to survive here, to have worth. And yeah, it is what we've been taught. It's what we've all been taught, right from infancy. Respect authority, not to challenge but to comply. It makes me sick. Children should be encouraged to change the world, not just accept it. And the 'freedom' we have isn't really freedom. It's the reality that they've created so we THINK we have freedom, and therefore don't challenge them.

If taxes were used to improve the society I live in, then the child poverty rate in my city wouldn't be 33%. I know it's cheesy, but the children ARE our future, their health and happiness should be one of the first priories on the list. No child should grow up hungry or cold, they should be looked after. And if it's not 'my concern' then who's is it? It's everyone's concern how their hard earned cash is being used, we earned it and it directly affects us. Exactly, with ths system in place change is almost impossible, and that's not right. If there's something wrong with the system, we should be able to fix it without being called 'communists', 'anarchists', 'utopianists'. These labels cleverly brand anyone who doesn't agree with how things are run as a heratic, and then no one wants to listen to them, to associate themselves for fear of being called the same thing.

You're right, I have a roof over my head and food in my belly. But just because I don't face the same challenges and hardships as those on the lower end of the economic scale, doesn't mean I agree with them. I'd rather make this world better for everyone, rather than just myself, which is the main difference between my views and the people in power today.

Yes, we blindly consume to support a failing economy and a faulty system. And guess what happens when we buy things? More damn taxes. Because it's not enough to take a percentage of the money we earn, but wherever we spend said money, they have to get a cut of that too. Unfortunately for the monks, we have different spiritual beliefs, and I think I'd have to join the nuns, but their basic humanity is heartwarming in this obliviously cruel world. Plus I'd bring a helluva party ;D

If the government decided a soft drink was 'unsafe' for society, and made it illegal, would you still consider that free choice? If you were to somehow obtain said prohibited drink, and got caught and punished, despite the fact it was affecting no one but yourself, would you consider that fair? Is the situation really so different with the laws in place today? No, it's not. And of course I enjoy my time here as much as possible, but our life here is a miracle, our time is so precious, we should be making the most of it, rather than spending the majority of it funding the death of our fellow man.

Well i'm from Scotland in Europe, but we love you Swedish! We have your back, we'll defend you with our ferocious kilts and wild haggis :)

I agree that we live in a more privileged world than those in 3rd world countries. I know that our cases of bad living conditions is vastly outnumbered by those in the poorer places on earth, but a society that calls basic humanity 'charity' and makes it some kind of saint-like action to help fellow human beings who blatantly need it, seems ridiculous to me. If we were less concerned about power and fear, maybe we'd realise how fucked our planet and species is.

I'm not confused, i've never had such clarity before. My eyes are open and I know with worrying certainty that I'm not mistaken. Judgment is a basic human defence skill, it's impossible not to judge others, it's wither you act on and discriminate against those judgements. Personally I believe every life is equally important, and no one has the right to kill another without that person's express permission. Who are any of us to decide when a person's life is worth less than our cause? I have no doubt I annoy people, it's inevitable when you preach against what people have been taught their entire lives.

And I thoroughly advise that you stop ignoring what's right in front of you. When you stop closing your eyes and start looking at the world in it's reality, you understand the enormity of the problem and the depth of the corruption. Just because your problems aren't as bad as someone else's, doesn't mean you have to stand by and do nothing. If we all looked after each other more and stopped eating up the lies we are so often fed, then maybe we would have a shot at making this place a fairer and safer environment to live and flourish.
